Hello, I saw a post you made where you mentioned you were am energy sun, the opposite of an energy vampire. Could you share a little more about this? I'm curious
Absolutely! Maybe you already are familiar with energy vampires, but there’s a lot of misinformation about them floating around, so I’ll just start there. So energy vampires can differ in many ways from person to person, but generally what they all have in common is a slight to very significant energy deficit. They need to receive energy from an outside source on a regular basis (most do via voluntary energy donations) in order to maintain the normal energy levels that people with regular energy systems ordinarily have. There’s a lot of stigma about them, but I’ve met lots of lovely energy vampires and even been an energy donor on numerous occasions.
Now, imagine the opposite. Someone whose energy system naturally produces more energy than the person needs or even can comfortably contain within themselves. Energy suns are named for constantly radiating energy like a sun (but doesn’t necessarily have any solar energy alignments). I came up with the term a while back when I finally figured out that’s what I am but then realized that there wasn’t really a good term for it. Some people call us “generators” or “power towers,” but I really don’t like being compared to machines - especially because energy suns are sometimes sought after for producing energy but we’re human beings… not convenient tools.
Anyways, just as energy vampires need some way to get energy on a regular basis, energy suns need outlets to use up all our excess energy. This can happen as just constant small amounts of energy radiation (basically low key grounding 24/7), by doing a big energy dump (like letting out a whole bunch at once), or by performing magic to burn it up (part of why I love doing energy work and magic in general). Personally, if I don’t find ways to use up my energy excess, it can get really uncomfortable or I can end up sort of fizzling and burning out temporarily from an internal overload, which really sucks. I call it “sun burning” when I spend time around someone and end up radiating too much energy at them. It’s so nice to know what that is now because my family members have complained about it for years. It tends to scare our skittish cats away because even if I try to walk over to them being super calm and slow, they just feel all my energy unintentionally blasting at them.
That probably covers the basics, but if anyone wants to ask anything else about energy suns, I’m more than happy to share! Thanks for asking (:
