Ever since he climbed the Tower of Milen Kula, Engen has been a bit different. Colder, maybe. But you manage to evoke emotions that he hasn’t felt properly his entire life. You’re a weakness that’s snuck into his very skin. He wants to hate you, but he can’t.

Now that he’s felt this, he’s never letting you out of his sight. It’s only natural. If his enemies knew he had such a darling little Achilles heel, they’d surely try to exploit that. Castle Grey becomes your cage when he’s out terrorizing the Clan. Keep in mind that this is a man whose closest allies left him after beholding the Steel Witch. Engen isn’t allowing something similar to happen with you.

If you’re a stubborn thing who writhes against his hold, fighting for your freedom, he’ll simply hold tighter. You can’t expect to escape an Elder, can you? Engen will chip away at your resistance, wearing you down until you understand that your place is with him and him alone. It’s just how things were meant to be.

But if you return his (twisted) affections, you’ll often see how his lips curl into smirks, showing off the glint of his sharp canines. He’ll allow you into his bed, soothing his troubled sleep. He’ll guard you as jealously as a dragon hoards its treasure, because even if he knows you’re his, others need to know. And if they’re dull enough to try anything with the King of Nera’s darling, they’ll soon find themselves experiencing Hell.

He likes strong people, not only because weak people tends to be afraid of him but also because he doesn't want to get worried about his partner. He wants someone who can be his equal.

He tends to be asshole, don't get me wrong, he does love you but his not running to your rescue the minute you are in trouble. He's not a hero, that's why he doesn't like weaklings. If you die, it means you're not worthy.

He expects loyalty because he will be loyal to you as he is loyal to his revenge.

He usually doesn't show his emotions, he's really good at hiding his emotions but with enough attentions to the details, like if he fists his hands, his eyes, the twitch of his eyelid, etc., You'll know exactly how he's feeling.

100% sure Engen made you keep your relationship a secret, just not to put you in danger. Buuuut, you being a love monkey who takes every chance to get in contact with him raise suspicious in the hero clan and some weak villains.

I have no proofs nor doubt that Engen is that kind of Villain who will let his darling take a sit on his lap, and good you can do all kind of stuff to him as he acts like a statue in front of everyone.

once upon a time he received a ransom call because you got kidnapped. He went to the meeting not to save you but to have a first row sit to watch you kill your kidnappers.

Engen who's not overprotective but he's very possessive, and when I mean possessive I mean possessive level...

"We are at war, so I prohibit you to die out there" He warns you touching your cheek softly, making you look at him to see that subtle expression of worry hidden behind the threatening demeanor.

"oh, I know because even my death is yours" you tell him meaning you would only let him kill you or that you would trust your life only to him. Oh, how he enjoys you saying that!

As stated before, he won't be saving you but he's possessive and if he feels like someone is overstepping your kindness or is getting handsy, then he would save you.

Engen absolutely lost his cool that time you fought with a hero who's gift was to make people fall in love with them with a kiss. The Hero was so close to kiss you when he user his gift to impale the hero. Engen didn't just kill him, he kept him close to death for days until he calmed down.

Engen is mostly calm and collected, nor even you the person he cherries the most have seen him weak, tired or openly sad because in those instances he hides his face in your neck. His body practically swallows you in the embrace.
