Amazing News: I’m about to start making a new solo album - and I’ve been writing songs with XTC’s Andy Partridge!! Fcking hell, I can’t believe it myself sometimes. The thought of writing lyrics & music with one of the greatest songwriters in the world was a bit daunting for me at first - but we’ve found it easy, fun & very creative working together. Andy & I initially did 1 Zoom session to write my next single for Wicked Cool Records, but we ended up writing 4 songs! After sending song demos & lyrics back & forth for a few months we did a 2nd Zoom to finish them off. And then - a few months later Andy asked me would I like to write some more? HELL YES!! So we had our 3rd Zoom session yesterday and came up with 4 new songs! Sometimes a life in music can be really sweet. #englishsettlement #xtc #andypartridge #colinmoulding #terrychambers #davegregory #hughpadgham this band is so great - they write such great songs I so love their first 6 albums great hooks brilliant smart lyrics- the playing on their records - #nothugsinourhouse could be a song for us right now ( a racist son that parents refuse to believe he’s a scumbag) and terry’s drums on #sensesworkingovertime on what was the hit from this pastoral record - I was happy that we got to promote a few of their shows in Detroit before they completely stopped touring and in spite that Andy hated touring they were a great amazing live band - replaying this record it has aged so well - go out give this a spin Enjoy!
