A SHORT GUIDE FOR MEN ON HOW TO ACCESSORISE
All women know that the best way to make any outfit look its best is to accessorise. This works for a man's wardrobe also. But a lot of men think that if they talk about such stuff they will be considered being to girly. This could not be further from the truth. There was a time that men knew that adding accessories was always a way to add just the right flair to their clothes. This time is coming back. This is a guide will show you the best things for men to accessorise with.
Tieing A Tie
Do you have a lot of ties in your closet? Are you starting to look boring wearing the same old tie with the same old suit? Well there are ways that you can make that tie look new and add a real nice touch to that shirt. This can be done by simply tying the tie in a different way then the old standard knot. For example you can tie it into a Windsor. Learning new knots for your ties can add just enough of a touch onto your tie to make it all look new.
Pocket Squares A Great Accessory
Before someone came up with those little travel size tissues that everyone carries these days, there was the pocket squares. Men carried them to wipe their sweat and to also blow their noses of course. The thing is these pocket squares also make great accessories. They really add the perfect touch to a blazer. You can do the one fold look for the business attire or you can puff it out a little for the relaxed look. And remember gentlemen these are always nice when you see a beautiful woman crying, you can pull out the pocket square and hand it to her.
Cufflinks
Cufflinks can be one of the best accessories that you can add to your outfit. Do not go with something like silver or gold. Go with something more modern and you will look like you are in style. You can guarantee women will notice what kind of cufflinks you are wearing.
Scarf
When it is real cold a lot of men will just wear a bigger jacket. Do not do this. Instead find a great quality scarf. Figure out a few different kinds of knots and wrap it around your neck. The scarf can add a lot of flair to your jacket and fight the cold better also. There are some that say that wearing a scarf will make you look too European or uppity but this is so not true. Wearing a scarf is really in style these days and will make you look good even with a jacket on. You can also wear a light scarf when you are just wearing a sweater or a blazer and look just as good.
Briefcases
When you are a businessman you always want to impress the people that you meet. Some people think that if they have a real nice car then this will impress everyone. But think about it, how often anyone sees your car. You can also wear really nice suits. They may think you look nice but it will not leave that lasting impression that you are looking for. What you need to buy is an impressive briefcase. It is the perfect way to impress without offending anyone. Try a nice leather briefcase or a fine grain leather case. These will have plenty of room for everything that you need to carry and people will remember a nice briefcase longer after they have meant you. Final Point As you can see all of these tips that we have given you are easy things to do. It does not have to be difficult to achieve that perfect look. You can do something as simple as changing the knot on that tie, or wearing a pocket square can be the perfect accessory. It does not matter if you are dressing for business or a night out does not have to be about spending a lot of money. It’s not how much it cost but how you wear it. Image Sources: (1) (2) (3)
A BEGINNERS GUIDE TO CUFFLINKS
In 2006, Italian fashion doyen Giorgio Armani uttered the famous words with profound insight into his approach to style and life as a whole. “To create something exceptional,” he said, “your mindset must be relentlessly focussed on the smallest detail.”
This, in essence, is why cufflinks are a must-have accessory for any modern man. Versatile, subtle, sharp and individual, cufflinks work well with most outfits, they send a very subtle message to the people around you and communicate the sort of man that you are. That you are well collected, have attention to detail and are passionate about style.
What Are Cufflinks, and Where Did They Come From?
Stylish men have been wearing cufflinks for four hundred years. However, it was not until the end of the 18th century that they become de rigueur. By the 19th century, the fashion had developed to include more ornate, sophisticated and ostentatious styles. European design houses such as Faberge made some of the most stylish and sought after pieces anywhere in the world. Cufflinks have long been associated with the aspirational class, those who have worked hard for what they have and are proud to show off their new found wealth.
Modern cufflinks usually consist of a front face which sits on top of the cuff, often with a gemstone inlay or other precious metal. This is known as the ‘insert member’ and sits inside the cup member, which is connected to the post. The post threads through the holes in the cuffs and is secured on the bottom part of the cuff by the toggle. The toggle holds both parts of the cuff in place and creates a classic, stylish look.
Types and Materials
The toggle cufflinks mentioned above are the most common types of cufflinks available. Other types include light weight stud cufflinks. These do not have the moving parts associated with their toggle counterparts and are more secure for it.
Chain link cufflinks feature two decorative sides connected by a chain rather than a rigid post, and provide a stylish touch above and below the cuff. A more modern design is the locking cufflink, which uses a folding lock similar to that seen on a watch strap, to hold the cuff in place.
As for materials, precious metals – such as gold, platinum and titanium – are always popular thanks to their high value and the fact that they will not corrode. Modern cufflinks may be made of carbon fibre, which has the advantage of being relatively cheap and lightweight without compromising on strength.
Decorative materials like enamel, mother of pearl, crystal and glass bring additional stylistic elements to traditional cufflinks, while rose gold is a popular choice for formal events. If the occasion is a more casual one, silk cufflinks – which are durable and versatile yet a little more low-key – may be ideal.
How to Wear Cufflinks with Style.
There are no hard and fast rules for cufflinks. Many wearers use them as a way to inject a bit of individuality to an outfit, or set off a crisp shirt. However, there are ways by which you can get the most out of your cufflinks.
The first tip is to invest. Cufflinks are jewellery pieces fundamentally, and, as with any jewellery pieces, you get what you pay for. A good quality pair of cufflinks is going to last you a long time, and so will probably save you money in the long run.
The second is to select your cuff style. Experiment with a kissing cuff – i.e. the two inner sides of the cuff laying flush against one another – or with a barrel cuff; when the two sides of the cuff overlap to create a tubular effect.
The third and final tip is to judge the occasion. By and large, cufflinks are for formal events, and so wearing your smartest pair of gold links to the office is probably not appropriate. That said, some examples are more formal than others, so wearing your fabric set to a black tie gala is similarly erroneous. Judge the occasion and ask other attendees if you need to.
So, what can we get you? Take a look at our cufflinks range and select the perfect pair for you.

The forerunner of today’s shirt first appeared in the early-16th century, its ruffled wristband finished with small openings on either side that tied together with "cuff strings." Although cuff strings would remain popular well into the nineteenth century, it was during the reign of Louis XIV that shirt sleeves started to be fastened with boutons de manchette, or "sleeve buttons," typically identical pairs of coloured glass buttons joined together by a short, linked chain. By 1715, simple, paste-glass buttons had given way to pairs of two, decoratively painted or jeweled studs, typically diamonds, connected by ornate gold links. Hence was born the cuff "link", whether simple glass buttons or gilded and bejeweled studs. Cufflinks are designed only for use with shirts which have buttonholes on both sides but no buttons. These may be either single or double-length ("French") cuffs, and may be worn either "kissing," with the ends pinched together, or "barrel-style," with one end overlapping the other. The "barrel-style" was popularized by a famous 19th century entertainer and clown, Dan Rice; however, "kissing" cuffs are usually preferred. Cufflink designs vary widely. The simplest design consists of a short post or chain connecting two disc-shaped parts. The part positioned on the most visible side is usually larger; a variety of designs can connect the smaller piece: It may be small enough to fit through the button hole like a button would; it may be separated and attached from the other side; or it may have a portion that swivels on the central post, aligning with the post while the link is threaded through the button-hole and swiveling into a position at right angles to the post when worn. "Dumbbell" or shank-style cufflinks were popular during the early-20th century, particularly in America. The visible part of a cufflink is often monogrammed or decorated in some way.
