Hello, I'm currently doing a module in university on how certain groups of indigenous peoples in Australia are affected by changes in ecological policy within the country. I just had a question about terminology for you - I've been taught that when not referring to a particular group, the phrase indigenous people/populace is preferable to Aboriginal but that both are correct; i was wondering what your stance is on that? Thank you, your blog is amazingly informative.

Hello! You’re right in that both are correct, although “Aboriginal” refers to people on the main land. Indigenous peoples/Indigenous Australians encompasses Aboriginal AND Torres Strait Islander peoples. So, using Indigenous peoples/Indigenous Australians is a sure way to include everyone, as there are of-course many mixed Indigenous peoples :)

today was kinda horrible :( I dropped my lovely stripy bowl on the floor and it smashed and i dont have another one and i didnt want to pay for a new one so i got very upset but jess is 100% babe and she said i could use one of hers, this is a jess appreciation post

BUT on the other hand i read tons of The Rainbow today, it's okay i guess, still better than Adam Bede but wow, DH Lawrence really likes talking about vague naked darkness doesn't he? And wombs. He never shuts up about wombs. And after my tea there was a beautiful firework display right next to our house and that made me feel much better.
