HG Chouryujin

Man, I was beginning to think that we were only going to get GaoGaiGar and Goldymarg. At least now we know we'll at least get Gekiryujin, though I do hope they do the entire cast of 'bots. Granted, I'd hope they do Volfogg and Mike with a bit less cheating, but to be fair, posable Chouryujin has only been done once, and I still don't know how they did it.

The Good: Every mode looks great and is very solid. They're also quite posable, and don't have a problem holding their rifles/tonfa up. They also scale pretty well next to GaoGaiGar.

And while I would prefer a little less cheating, the Chouryujin torso seems to be designed for the hip armor to separate easily for Gekiryujin, and therefore Goryujin and Genryujin in the future. Not only that, the way it's deigned makes me think that if they were ever bold enough to do Tenryujin in the future, that you could use the same mechanics, meaning we'd have access to combinations we've never seen before, which would be amazing if that were true. Let's hope.

The Bad: As I've been alluding to, there is a lot of cheating going on in order to accommodate posability and accuracy as both Hyoryu and Enryu and Chouryujin. With a little tweaking, and a set of spare shoulder pads, you could honestly make all 3 separately. And I can see ways of alleviating it a little bit, like having the guns actually form the arms, or not have a flat head for the vehicle mode and just commit.

Also, Enryu and Hyoryu come with screaming faces as well, but they're meant to be put in during construction of the heads and can't be easily swapped.

The Details: Because I kept it pretty easy for GaoGaiGar and Goldymarg, since they were RGs, I kept it relatively the same here; Panel lining and the included stickers. The windows are plastic stickers, so even if you choose to paint the smaller details yourself, you might still want to use those. Weirdly, the fake head uses plastic stickers, but the real head uses paper ones? Kinda with they did plastic for both.

The one detail I felt like I had to add was some color to the chest vents, so I did that in metallic blue and red for the appropriate brothers.

Overall, I'm just happy to have another addition to the GGG lineup, and I'm hoping this is a sign of more to come. They're definitely going to do Gekiryujin, and I can't imagine they won't also do Volfogg. I'm just wondering if we'll actually get some of the odder members, like Tenryujin or the massive King J-Der? Personally, I'd love a GaiGo. Only time will tell, I suppose.
