Entertainment is a product

Getting a mood you want can be as simple as playing some favorite music. Or enjoying a perfect cup of coffee; however YOU like it.

Entertainment is just our word for SAFE mood control usually produced by others, like a song that moves you. Or movies that can give all kinds of moods.

Roller coaster? May not feel safe for you but be entertaining for others. Or bungee jumping. If those sound great? Knitting is great mood control have heard but be careful with those needles!

When produced as a product safe mood control is often called entertainment.

I just define a product as a thing manufactured by human effort in SOME way for distribution to other human beings. That 'for distribution' is important.

This post is a product. Is not an entertainment product and is not to be sold. Is a writing sample meant to be freely shared.

Entertainment is something else.

So can produce a solid entertainment product? I say is like baking a really good cheesecake.

Focus on the product to understand how is best to make money, or why can be impossible without a proper market.

Entertainers craft moods

Talk entertainers when am not one to help understand role of art to the artist versus reality of making a living for an entertainer.

Why the entertainer must be captured by art, but importantly be able to help generate desired mood safely, for an audience.

Art calls the soul. But practice propels the presentation of craft.

Entertainment is a great equalizer as MUST be safe mood control.

That requires commonality of a human skill basis in effectivity.

Gaining that requires practice, practice, PRACTICE.

Is entertainment art? Sometimes.

What entertainment shares with art in general is reference to an abstract human core.

Art speaks to the soul. Entertainment can soothe the soul.

Trying to define mood

At its simplest mood is emotion, but can be a complex constellation of emotions, which is why it's not enough to just talk about a feeling.

My definition of my science of entertainment

Using my own functional definitions, concluded that a science of entertainment should involve discovery of a framework of tools and methodologies to expand zones of predictive certainty in producing a desired mood for a human being or groups of humans with a socially accepted activity, unlikely to bring harm in any way.

The art of it is in choices made in building that framework.

Is easy to play with it to check your own entertainment preferences as to why.
