I have been planning to travel to the astral plane to study the yellow door. I only plan to observe it. after that, I will record my findings. as someone who appears to have experience with this anomaly, is there any advice you would be willing to impart?

It feels antithetical to my entire purpose to discourage research of any sort, however I must strongly caution you against running headfirst into danger (not a word, Martin, I know).
In my experience, the door is a manifestation of the entity known as The Distortion. It feeds on lies, unreality, and madness. The door is both the Distortion itself as well as a...mouth, of sorts. It is twisting hallways and spirals. It will alter your reality until you cannot remember if you yourself are even real.
Do not enter the door. Do not go through any doors, if you can avoid it. Do not trust anyone or anything that comes out of the door. I would say not to go alone, but that seldom stops it from claiming you if it wants you.
Again, I encourage you to avoid this mission entirely, but I am well aware of the dire ends to which the Hunger for knowledge drives you.
I Know that I cannot stop you. I must admit that I look forward to seeing the results of your attempt - ugh, that's so distasteful. My apologies.
