White Europeans, their Asian counterparts, and a couple of Africans applauded the next wave of colonialism in the guise of conserving the environment. The 30 x 30 deal seeks to cordon off parts of the world outside of the G7, with the intent of saving the remaining natural habitats, and restoring the damaged ones. None of the applauding advocates are seeking to restore the damaged habitats in the G7, because it would interfere with their civilisations. They're targeting places whose indigenous peoples have been fighting against European environmentalist advocacy for yonks in a bid to protect their habitats. Places like the Amazon, and Africa. The deal seeks to throw these people out of their lands, and fence off the land, and put other people in charge of managing it. It's already happening with organisations like African Parks in central and southern Africa. Deals like this one at cop15 are just another in the line of colonial policies that seek to dispossess indigenous peoples of their lands and environments for the benefit of colonial powers.
