Flynn had invited Hailey, having planned to do some corny date stuff with her because now she knew who he was, she knew his secret he’d kept from most people and she’d, of course, accepted it. Which he should have known she would but Flynn had always been prone to over thinking.

Tonight, they were going to spend time together for this end of summer event but for Flynn, it was only the beginning of something new. He’d never been so happy with another person in his life before her. As he waited, he texted her and told her where he was and kicked a rock around. When she approached, he smiled and hugged her. “Hi.” He said, waving at the same time. “Ready to do some corny date shit?”

Brightening at the prospect of her brother not looming over the boys she talked to, Scarlett nodded, "Of course! Granted, I would hang out with you nonetheless but if you didn't hover, I'd probably play with you in a more, happier light, if you get what I mean."

"I haven't been seeing you around a lot, Scarlett." He sighs, showing a slight pout, channeling Claude. "Does boys interest you more than me now?"

Scarlett turns her head and crosses her arms at her older brother, a frown prominent on her face. “Says the one that’s never around.” When she sees the pout, however, she can’t refrain from softening instinctively at the reminder of Claude but it’s only for a few seconds before she shakes her head clear of her second brother and instead, focuses on Adriel. “Well, you’re a boy so isn’t that contradictory? Boys can’t interest me more than boys. And besides, most of the guys here seem to stay away because someone always has to threaten them.”

"No, not until you answer my question." The girl huffed slightly, crossing her arms while sitting on the eldest Landegre’s back. Lying in bed, Adriel probably would have gotten a nice nap in if it weren’t for Scarlett storming in, kicking off her shoes and planting herself right on his back, a rant already spilling from her lips.

Scarlett slapped his shoulder slightly, tilting her head, “So? What do you think? Tacos are better than nachos, right?”
