I don't know if I'd call it an AU but I do have my own personal alternate timeline for Judes whole loop.
In the alt one somehow Valerie finds out about about the loop before it happens. For some reason something different happened that flagged them. So Val sets up plans to take Jude, the phone. Contacts Sean to bring him to whatever facility and assigns Riley on this project to find any anomaly's that relate back to Jude. The only information they have is the text on the phone (I like to think the phone travels with Jude. Not in a way where its the reason this is all happening, or its special of anything. Just that Jude seems to hold onto it enough for the phones data meets Jude in the next loop, keeping the words from before). They see Sean is involved but not informed on what's going on, so they tell him to stay away. Meanwhile Riley is having this moral dilemma, he's assigned this project but unable to let Jude go due to these government restrictions. So Riley does his best to treat Jude with as much humanity as he can.
As months pass Valerie locks this room Jude is in, down more and more. More locks, bolts, thicker layers. Pumps, wires machines pop up and Riley sees Jude less and less. The excuse always being they are doing testing and its 'not safe' for Riley to enter. Val explains to Riley the blueprint of what it looks like on the inside, wires and tubes being run into Judes limbs like veins. The thought process being, if Jude has to die in order for this loop to reset, and it happens on a specific day, they have to keep him alive for as long as possible to study him.
Keeping him alive past the end date is the goal. So they hook Jude up to all these machines to keep him in a catatonic state. The Idea being that if the worst cast scenario, he's braindead, but his other internal organs are kept 'alive' with these machines then it can bypass this date and keep his body going to continue to study the material without it rotting.
Best case scenario, only those with clearance are allowed into his room, to prevent somebody from killing him (accident or not). Not to mention kept completely sedated to keep him from hurting himself or instigate those with clearance (Which would only be Val, and sometimes Riley when it's important. Though I imagine Riley loves to bypass it somehow just to wake Jude to chat him up). All that to say he's completely isolated so under no circumstance, Jude can die from foul play.
After some internal back and forth Riley would decide to try and help Jude out. He thinks If he pokes around with Judes brain enough he can trick it into 'dying' or thinking it's dead with the help of chips, and whatever else robotic junk. Sneaks Jude out to an operating room to work a little bit before sneaking him back. Using what he learned from making Rasby to push him forward with the plan, replacing Judes nerves and veins with cords, replacing his organs, and even his bones to make more room for code. Slowly making him a 'robot' essentially.
To be honest, I don't really have any research to back me up on this. Loving sci-fi and being dumb clashes super hard, usually my concepts come from what I think would be visually sick and appealing rather than what would be realistic. I just love the idea of Jude being in Rileys hands and EOS touching Jude when nobody's around lol.
