OUAT 1.04 Rewatch

It actually hasn’t been that long since I’ve rewatched this, because I’m writing an Ashley/Ruby AU fanfic that spins off from this episode and I needed to remember what happened. So here are my continued stream of consciousness ramblings from this rewatch:

Oh look, the step family with the horrible dresses. At least Cinderella’s rags are somewhat fitted…

So this is where we changed from “all power comes with a price” to “all magic comes with a price.”

Always read the contract, Dearie! Especially since he’s just told you that all magic comes with a price.

Every time I see this Cinderella’s dress now, I think about how much Mely hates it. :D

Oh Ruby and those booty shorts. God bless whoever made that call.

I really love this scene with Emma and Ashley. Like really love it. I miss this Emma.

Okay, as much as I love Regina, I really question her leaving Henry alone all day, especially to go have a booty call.

I just noticed that the bodice of Cinderella’s wedding dress looks almost like a fabric version of scale armour. Super interesting.

The little scene between Ella and Snow puzzles me somewhat as to where it falls on the Snow and Charming timeline.

And there’s the dun dun dunnnnn moment. :D

Thomas’ hunting outfit is so, so bad.

Countering a deal with a deal was such a bad idea.

Ruby foreshadowing!

Sean’s dad is such a dick. I mean, not anywhere near the top 15 worst parents, but still a royal dick.

I just noticed that Emma’s blue jacket is too short. And the boots she’s wearing with it are ugly.

Incredible pop-up Henry! Henry, you’re lucky Emma didn’t run off the road or hit something.

“My baby!” Am I the only one who then said, “A DINGO ATE MY BABY!” in a horrible Australian accent?

It’s funny how Henry says that Emma can leave…yet the one time she tried, she dodged a wolf and hit a sign, so how exactly did he come to that conclusion?

We’re gonna need another Thomas!

I think Rumple needs to become a deputy. They have dental.

“I like you, Miss Swan.” And I like Emma vs. Gold.

Hehehe. I remember this scene the first time around. Somehow I KNEW it was Graham that she was boinking.

How strange would it be for Henry to call his bio mom “Pumpkin?” Weeeeird.

Ruby is every food services and retail worker that ever lived in the scene with Milkshake and his mom.

And Sadie's confession about being bullied makes me so sad and angry.

Ruby and Stan are parenting goals. I love her singing to the kids!

You can so tell she's agonizing over not telling Stan, though.

Eddie with the kids at Sadie's school and Annie's face as it progresses. Realizing she maaaaybe shouldn't have had the violent gangbanger threaten children.

This episode also really confirms for me that Boomer should have died after the first episode. Which, coincidentally, is the impetus for this fic I'm writing. Dealing with a dead body is comedy gold for Annie and Beth!
