Welcome to the Family Denali and Dahlia!
IT’S IN THE DETAILS ; “Dahlia”
Off the Track Thoroughbred
Dahlia is lovely young 3yr old mare, who recently joined us at Emerald Estate. After an impressive career on the track, she is with her new best friend Denali in a pasture to mature and grow, relax, and just be a horse. Raelyn will begin working with her come fall. When the time is right, she will simply be reminded on how to behave, no riding or work yet until she has matured further. Just temperament work and basics on how to carry herself in a better way, so come riding time it is a smooth transition.
FIREBIRD’S PRESCRIPTION ; “Denali”
Off the Track Thoroughbred
Denali is a another lovely young 3yr old mare, who recently joined us at Emerald Estate. After an extensive and impressive racing career, she is currently enjoying some time off to grow and settle into her new home. Raelyn will begin working with her and our other newest edition come fall. She is currently relaxing in our pasture, come fall she will simply be reminded on how to behave, no riding or work yet until she has matured further. Just temperament work and basics on how to carry herself in a better way, so come riding time it is a smooth transition. We excited to get started with these two and cannot wait to see how they feel!
New Additions: Arena and Racetrack
We here at Emerald Estate are always improving. Part of that goal was our recent purchase of a race track and indoor arena!
Custom built indoor arena for training and shows
Custom built racetrack to gallop the horses as well as hosting races here in Chestnut Ridge.
Q&A: How do you prepare your horses for upcoming events?
A: We are constantly training. Every two weeks the horses go out for a gallop around our race track so we can clock their times as well as prepare them for the upcoming shows. A horse’s stamina is incredibly important in eventing, and one of our favorite ways to improve that stamina is a mixture of several things: treadmill training, gallops, long trail rides, as well as taking them for swimming time at local ponds and pools. We allow all to benefit from our resources, so if you’re interested in booking a time to help your horse, please let us know. We accept all kinds of training here at Emerald Estate and would love to improve your horse or help you improve your horse and yourself however we can. Consultations are free, however there are fees that come with training sessions.

Meet the Horses!
EEEC Lady of the Winds ; "Ladybug"
Dutch Warmblood x Thoroughbred
Ladybug is Rosemary's mare. A beautiful mare, rescued by the Abbotts as a gift to Rosemary for her hard work on the farm. She was brought to us neglected, angry, and wanted nothing to do with humans or animals. One day, Rosemary was preparing the food for the day when a ladybug flying in the grain room caught her attention, when she let it out, it went right to the new mare's stall. It sat on the handle until Rosemary approached, when it then flew and landed on the nose of none other than Ladybug. Rosemary stood in awe, and the grey mare stood without moving a muscle. Rosemary worked with Ladybug everyday, and through years of hard work and dedication to this mare, they have a bond we have never seen before.
Ladybug is dam to several promising horses, but we at Emerald Estate fell in love with one. Ladybug has competed across the world in eventing, show jumping, and dressage. She has never been an easy mare, but the beautiful soul that has been brought out has been worth it.
EEEC Cold Temperance ; "Sebastian"
American Quarter Horse
Sebastian is Ezra's stallion. A true gentleman who just a big love. Ezra's father gave him Sebastian as a young stallion, already up and coming in the competition scene. Under Ezra's guidance, Sebastian has become the champion of Emerald Estate. While he has a story to tell, he still is the gentlest at the barn, only ever wanting some love. He's the first to greet us, and the happiest to be cared for. He focuses and works hard for Ezra, but his favorite part is knowing how proud Ezra is of him (and the delicious treats that come with)
EEEC Cold Flora ; "Tulip"
American Quarter Horse x Dutch Warmblood / Thoroughbred
Sire: EEEC Cold Temperance ; "Sebastian"
Dam: EEEC Lady of the Winds ; "Ladybug"
Tulip is a playful gem to have in the barn. Our first homebred mare, she is Jasmine's favorite. She and Tulip got along since the moment Tulip was born. When Ladybug went to compete and Tulip was brought with her, Jasmine was her care taker. Together, these two have been moving up the levels in eventing. While Tulip has been playful since she was born, she has the most intense focus in the show ring.
