Eraprox, alternatively named eraproximal or roseprox, describes a non-binary individual who experiences a connection to girlhood and/or womanhood, (regardless of their actual gender).
This term is similar to, and inspired by the term girlprox, however eraprox does not include binary women; eraprox describes an experience that is specific and exclusive to non-binary individuals. An eraprox individual experiences a connection to girlhood, but not completely to girlness, because they are not solely, completely and always a girl/woman (however, not all non-binary individuals will feel they have a connection to girlhood).
For example:
Demigirls, gxrls, and other individuals who are partially women/girls and have a connection to girlhood/womanhood.
Genderfluid individuals who are sometimes, but not always, women/girls and have a connection to girlhood/womanhood.
Non-binary individuals who otherwise identify with femininity and/or as a fiaspec/fingender identity and have a connection to girlhood/womanhood.
"Girlhood" is a large concept that is hard to define, but it is typically an experience that comes from being seen as female by society. Some examples of girlhood include, but are not limited to:
A connection to femininity.
A connection to women, despite actual gender identity.
A sense of belonging in women’s spaces.
A feminine or femme gender presentation.
Experience with misogyny.
Being assigned female at birth and holding that significant to one’s identity.
Holding female-assigned experiences significant to one and one's life (ex: girl scouts, attending an all-girl school).
Being raised as a girl/woman and/or experiencing going through life being perceived as a girl/woman.
Identifying partially, sometimes, or always as a woman - this is not required for girlhood, but often accompanies it.
Eraprox individuals must identify with some or all of these things.
Eraprox is an umbrella term, but it can also be used a specific gender if desired. For example, if someone cannot narrow down their gender any further than that they have a connection to womanhood/girlhood and are non-binary, they may identify as eraprox.
