DESI DEFINITION ON GOOGLE SUCKS ACCORDING TO DESI YOUTH @terry_mardi - Today's youth are often all too dependent on using their mobiles to #GoogleIt. However as someone who has witnessed first-hand, the digitisation of culture, I can speak from experience that the digitisation of history is leaving room for mass error and misinterpretation. This can be demonstrated with the word "Desi". Try asking search engine Google about the definition of the word. It's top results are often misleading and out of context. So imagine what our youth are starting to believe. In parts the definition is somewhat close to a version of truth. One simple observation is this: #Desi /deɪsi/ INDIAN adjective: desi; adjective: deshi 1. local; indigenous. e.g. "desi liquor" derogatory rustic; unsophisticated. 2. unadulterated or pure. e.g. "desi ghee" noun: desi; plural noun: desis; noun: deshi; plural noun: deshis 1. a person of Indian, Pakistani, or Bangladeshi birth or descent who lives abroad. Origin via Hindi from Sanskrit deśa ‘country, land’. ⬅ This last definition must consider that when Sanskrit was in use the countries India, Pakistan and Bangladesh did not exist as they do now. So the meaning of the word has been warped. Context is critical for identity and without this accuracy we may all lose part of our truth.
