I’ve been thinking, is the SwapFell brother’s timeline harsher than Red and Edge’s timeline? Because in some of the headcanons you put in there like Mutt and Black smelling like dust, while Red doesn’t, it made it look like SwapFell is much harsher, I feel sorry for them 🥺

It’s not really harsher than the Underfell timeline; Mutt and Black’s dynamic is just different from Red and Edge’s.  Edge does his Royal Guard duties solo, while Red slacks off as a sentry, whereas Black and Mutt are a team -- and Mutt has more LOVE under his belt than Black or Red; it’s equal to Edge’s.  

I feel like Mutt and Black are more likely to dust someone than Red and Edge, mostly because Mutt is quick to jump to his brother’s bidding.  They’re both fiercely protective of one another (and of Black’s reputation as the strongest monster in the Guard), while Red’s more apathetic.  Sure, Red will still dust a monster who wrongs him -- and he would definitely jump to protect his brother -- but Edge has become the kind of person that doesn’t need protecting, and Red sees that.  Whereas, Mutt still sees Blackberry as someone fragile because he almost lost him, which is why he’s so devoted to doing whatever Black wants.  

Edge is also more level-headed than Blackberry, and while he has an explosive temper, he can keep a cool demeanor easier and is less likely to dust someone over a first-time slight.
