Given the panels with Erin infodumping about the ocean to Dainix, I have concluded that he had a very intense phase when he was like twelve where the ocean was all he thought and learned about, and he's mostly gotten over it now, but any mention of the ocean sets him off like a sleeper agent and he starts yapping.
