Jak bites his lip. "It would make sense. Tess didn't seem convinced that Torn's friend was dead…"

"Right, he talked about 'em like they had a bad breakup, or somethin'," Daxter recalls. "But no, wait, this is Errol we're talkin' about here! No way would a good guy like Torn be friends with that freak-o!"

Jak winces at his wording, but he's got a point. He casts his eyes over to Torn's sleeping form - the man is still out like a light.

"Maybe…" It turns his stomach to think about, but, "Maybe Errol wasn't always bad. Tess said they were childhood friends - like you and me."

Torn finally met his best friend's eyes. The hazel irises, so light they were almost red, typically hid feelings behind a wall of false bravado, but right now, they were shockingly easy to read.
