An FYI for anyone waiting for their second jab through the national booking system (UK): I managed to get mine rebooked for 2 weeks earlier (and closer to my home) through it as govt are covertly letting people rebook for the 8 week rather than the 10 week/12 week mark
Just rebook the second appointment and it should let you - you have to cancel the original second appointment to rebook but honestly it has saved my life and meant I'm vaccinated a tad sooner ❤ hope this can help even someone
yes absolutely! a lot of people have been doing this and it’s super important being as the vaccine uptake has (so far) been lower amongst younger groups in the UK!
i believe you can do it via the page here under the manage my appointments section!

If you ever want a really fun series to read that is sci fi (and has a new book coming out in February) is the Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers! Not sure if you've ever read it but the first book is The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet and the entire series brings me joy! Very fun to read tbh! Hope you're well and have a happy and safe new year!
if have no read it but i heard a lot of good things about it!! it has been on my radar for a while but i am pretty hesitant to pick it up bc i sci fi is almost always kind of a hit or miss thing for me, especially with series. but you saying it’s fun make me wanna give it a shot! i have been faring well with recommendations lately, so i’ll definitely try to get to it this year. thank you <333
talk to me about books or anything else <3
Horrible Histories is god-tier TV and it was what made me want to study history at uni (the fact I prefer the media side of my degree is irrelevant here because Horrible Histories was a formative part of my childhood and they use it in uni classes sometimes at my uni to help explain how history can be made fun for larger groups of people)
yeah same!! i loved the books when i was a kid and watched the tv show before i went to uni to study history ... i think i’ve rewatched it at least three times lmao. and yeah i’ve definitely used the info from it in class...
what i really love tho is that my little brother has watched it all and he’s learnt so much from it and now he can follow in my footsteps lmao
Sorry to keep talking about this I feel like students (of all ages, but especially uni students) have been left in the dust Our unis are planning everything with minimal input from the government and then we get blamed for rising cases I also have practicals this semester (media practicals) and I have no idea if I can access the stuff I need for it alongside my diss stuff, and I hope I'm not alone here Feel for all students in this position with me, especially other final years/postgrads
you have nothing to apologise for! it’s true that the government have just shafted an entire generation of young people here.
from a level results to creating what are essentially COVID breeding grounds,,, closing down all the facilities students need to complete their degrees whilst still expecting them to somehow... complete their degrees.
i hope y’all get compensated big time.

🌟 and I'd highly recommend Becky Chambers' The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet and A Closed And Common Orbit, if you haven't read those, and also any of Alice Oseman's books! Love your blog!
thanks!!

following: no(t yet), sorry | f+ | yes, of course <3 | ˗ ˋ ABSOLUTE FAV!! ˎ ˗
yes please check out vicar of dibley it is one of my favourite sitcoms that I grew up with!
It is definitely in my to watch list!
It looks really interesting!
OMG THE BELL END SAGA I REMEMBER BEING TOLD ABOUT IT IN UNI BY SOME MATES! It happened during my first year of uni, some of my pals are from the Black Country (which you've detailed historical context for, it's great) and were telling me about it iirc!
Also I just remembered that there's a place in Staffs called Leek and I can't believe I forgot it existed (same with Stone)
the bell end saga is one of my favourite things to ever happen because it has the vibes of a "for some reason, we have to have a talent show to save our treehouse and the whole town will rally behind us for it!"
but instead of a treehouse, its our right to have penis lane.
stone and leek go well with old hill which also there isnt a new hill round here so why is it old hill and the shell
better known as shell corner and named for a world war one artillery shell, but it does sound quaint if you dont mention it xjskdkzlslld
