I'm especially interested in learning about closed practices to understand where certain beliefs originate, I'm not at all intending to use it, just understand anything I'm allowed to :)

Hello, I saw your post on deities the other day. I wonder how can we find out about our deities’ patronage if they’re a hero or a demigod. I’m really drawn into a demigod from the Mesopotamian pantheon but I don’t know what he likes as his offerings :( thank you so much
So I think it would be best to start online, looking that demigod/hero up and looking up the entire pantheon to try and find myths including your deity. I found a list of the Mesopotamian pantheon on wikipedia (I know, but it's always a good start and try to look at their cited sources as well) I also found this interesting website called godchecker
This is all very basic outlining research that might help and I hope it does!
But once you find them you can go further into understanding the culture and reading books about them
