How are you able to make gif that looks so nice, but yet is able to be uploaded on to Tumblr? Whenever I optimize it to be under 1mb it just looks like shit.

Well tumblr's increased the size limit for 250px gifs to 2mb, and that helps a lot. I'm not sure actually, I guess I've just had a lot of practice? (I've been gifing for close to two years now.) It's a learn-as-you-go sort of thing, I think, figuring out what works and what doesn't.
