THIS POPPLIO ICON IS SO CUTE
The Bond That Binds
By Sergeant Bill Chapman, of the 46th Battalion CEF
1918
There's a gladness in the memory of the good friends we have met,
But it's mingled with the sadness and the pain
For the boys now laid at Ypres, Vimy Ridge or Courcelette,
Who ne'er in life shall visit us again.
There is pleasure living o'er again some days we ne'er forget,
When friendships oft were sealed in bonds of blood;
Where we shared our fags and bacca, and never used to fret
When laid our beds together in the mud.
The friendships that were made in those uncertain potluck days
When we learned to draw our belts in for a meal
And laughed and joked together while death lurked round in the haze,
Are the friendships that we'll find as true as steel.
We shall go on our several ways to counter, woods, or farm
Perchance to meet no more upon the earth;
But the restless soul will wander, when the nights are still and calm,
Off through dreamland to where our friendships had their birth.
The counterman his ribbons will be offering for sale,
When o'er the scene will come a rapid change,
And his ribbons will hold cartridges, that pouring out like hail,
Through the quick-fire gun he's getting into range.
He'll see the devil-dancing lights shoot up from No Man's Land
He'll feel the thrill come o'er once again,
As Bill and Tom and Jack and Dick are working hand-in-hand,
While the shrapnel's falling all round like rain.
He'll wake from out his reverie and think of all the boys
Who shared his joys and sorrows, laughs and woes;
And he'll give a thought to all of them who midst the battle noise
Were stood between their country and its foes.
And he'll feel the lack of something with a sigh and a regret,
And he'll know the feeling isn't something new;
For he'll want to grip the hands again of boys he can't forget,
Who are bound to him with bonds of friendship true.
Yes, there's gladness in the memory of the good friends we have met,
And there's pleasure living o'er again some days we'll ne'er forget;
There's a solace in the knowledge that these friends are ever true,
And you'll meet the world more bravely, when you know they think of you.

god that roof top dance scene was really good
When you're young, you can be angry in the abstract, and God will love you for your righteous indignation.
Call The Midwife S01E02.
really eye-opening (derogatory) when you get into media with a prominent, canon disabled character, take one look at the fandom, and there are so many people obsessed with "fixing" their disability
“Since you believe knowledge is the original sin, then I will make you the holiest man on the planet, and make sure you have none of it.”
C...can I just pat myself on the back for that one? Because that is a LINE.
