"Love Addict" is a great opener that cooks with a soaring arrangement perfectly showcasing the great singer who is clearly inspired throughtout this wondrous set in blissful peak form. Low-down blues at it finest, "You've Been A Good Ole Wagon" is an example how Esther could go to the core of blues better than anyone while surprise of the set "If I Loved You" is given a wildly funky work-out taking the old classic on a new ride that is intoxicating and thoroughly engrossing...throughout Esther is inspired to push to the heights of her awesome ability and clearly a stellar group of musicians (many legendary) rose to the occasion of these incredible sessions surrounding the magnificent singer with some of the best playing ever with mesmerizing "Somewhere Along The Line" a sterling example. Exotic rocking and soaring "Unselfish Love" features Esther unleashing her great voice hitting notes remarkable in scope and power while "I've Never Been A Woman Before" is given a dramatic spoken intro as only Esther could do, becomes a glorious definitive classic reading of this unique standard...hope Van Morrison heard this insanely great version of his "Into The Mystic" that is given a supremely great funky workout making this engaging & miraculous performance one to enjoy over and over while closing gem "My Prayer" is a soaring dance club classic unreleased mix that is red-hot and totally on fire...amazing FM radio didn't pick up on any of these incredibly great killer tracks, this would have sent sales through the roof and won Esther a deserved "Grammy Award" or two!
