Squid actually! 

It’s more of he’s an OC for a friend’s AU but in that universe, the main species, which are known as ‘Estrians’, have a final form where they can morph their bodies to better defend themselves. 

Since this takes place in a world where magic usage and other mythical things are quite common- it isn’t so far a stretch to say that an underwater skeleton can turn into a squid if he wants to.
