It may or may not be working.

I Promised
@eternalaeon
“Hey, you!” Yumi’s birthday had been busy, even hectic. This time last year, turning sixteen, she’d been alone in a little room, hugging her knees, wishing things that no one should ever wish about themselves. And now, now she had so many friends, so many people who cared about her, she hardly had time for them all. It was the best day she’d had in a long, long time, and it was only going to get better.
“Sorry I’m late, Junpei kept trying to challenge me to rematches.” After Yumi found out the truth, and about Minako, the two of them had decided not to tell anyone. Apparently, every time Aigis had tried to change the timeline in a major way, things only got worse. So, at least for now, it was better to keep everyone else in the dark about the truth. And that meant keeping their relationship a secret.
“Can I just say that you’re really cute when you’re trying to pretend you aren’t embarrassed?”
Sobbing
@eternalaeon from here
There’s no resistance from Yumi, all but throwing herself against Aigis’ chest, burying her face against her girlfriend’s shoulder. Her hands, shaking, grip at the front of Aigis’ uniform like she’d rather die than let go, desperately clinging to her with all the sense she still has.
Every sob makes her shoulders heave, wracks her whole body like she might buckle under it. Aigis is going to want to know what’s wrong, what’s twisted Yumi up into such a horrible mess. That’s the worst part of it, she doesn’t have a reason. There’s no big cause behind the sudden break, no big event that brought it all crashing down.
Just... some woman on TV, some American channel, laughing. That’s all it was. It wasn’t even a sad show.
But she reminded her of Mom.
“I’m sorry.... I’m sorry...”
Fuck this.

Having Aigis there with her always helps. She’s Yumi’s port in the storm. And yet, right now, she can’t even work up the effort to turn her head towards her as she approaches. A handheld game console sits screen-down on the couch next to her where Yumi threw it a few moments before, hard enough that it bounced quite high before settling between the cushions.
“Who the fuck decided that a 1% drop rate was a good idea? No, I don’t mind doing the same fucking fight a hundred goddamn times just for a fucking pretend hat. It’s not like I have anything better to do.”
Somehow this fan list makes sense to me.

‘Oh, I need to get my persona out.’ *Turns around and reaches for a giant red button labeled FEAR RESPONSE*
Even Yumi isn’t that good at repressing her emotions.
