Mission || Reva & Ethan
(Sorry, I'm not good at titles, :-P )
Reva tapped her fingers nervously on the barrel of her gun as the flier landed, and the rescue team prepared to disembark. She glanced over briefly towards Ethan, her partner for the mission, before turning away, staring straight ahead determinedly. This was the first major mission she'd been sent out on. Patrols and Reconnaissance missions back at the base were nothing compared to this. She gritted her teeth. She couldn't let any nervousness get in the way of this mission, and during the flight, she'd managed to force out the nervousness with her usual flood of sarcasm and snarky comments, and she narrowed her eyes, refusing to acknowledge the shiver of fear inside her. If there was one benefit to the years of forced emotional repression, it was that at least it made it easier to repress fear also.
They could do this. She could do this. After all, she'd been training for months. She knew what had to be done, and she had no qualms about doing it. They had to win this revolution, and to do that, it would help to have a strong leader, which was why they needed to get Cadence back out of the enemy's clutches. Besides, she'd spent part of the ride on the flier coming up with what she was certain was an excellent plan. She and Ethan had been assigned to enter from one side, as a distraction, and oh, what a distraction she had planned! A small smirk played on her lips at the thought, and her fingers tightened around her weapon, angry at herself for her momentary weakness. They could do this. She could do this. No doubt about it. Or at least, no doubt that she was willing to acknowledge......
As they snuck into the city, she turned to catch Ethan's eye for a moment. "Ready? I do hope I wasn't assigned a sub-standard partner for this mission", she teased quietly, smirking.
