sitting idle never suited petra. she was a moving spirit; proactive, never reactive. it did, admittedly, sometimes get her into trouble but petra was far too attracted to trouble for her own good. at the moment, though, planning and scheming and other things of a similar nature had been temporarily tossed aside having been ordered to lay low for quite awhile. but what some might deem a vacation was petra’s definition of a living hell. what better to do, though, when in hell than to keep the company of fellow sinners?
“champagne madam?”
it was with this notion in mind that she turned to the handsome creature within her line of sight, catching their gaze with a scarlet smile. “i think i will, and one for my friend also.” she held out the second flute in a literal gesture of friendship, or at the very least good company. “you look at a loss my dear.”
After a tumultuous year, the city of Eureka is proud to announce the return of it’s annual Eureka Winterfest, sponsored this year by Henderson and Hill Architecture

Roll up roll up for the most terrifying time of the year has arrived, and this years All Hallows Eve Fayre is set to be a spooky spectacular. Over the course of the weekend, watch as Eureka disappears over to the dark side with events taking place all over the city:
For those with little ones head to Carson Square, where little ghouls and witches can bob for apples for just $2 ( all money generated will be donated to the Humboldt County Historical Society ). Your favourite eateries will once again be in attendance with creepy themed treats for all the family. How about a spooky tale or two? Head straight to the Old Town Haunted History booth, where their tour guides will be regaling visitors with tales of Eureka, guaranteed to chill the blood -- and make sure you stop off at Madam Laura, Eureka’s resident fortune teller and tarot card reader who is offering to tell you your fortune for the bargain price of just $5. K94.5 will also be in residence over the entire weekend, with on-air games and competitions as well as playing out some classic tunes guaranteed to wake the dead!
How about a trip in a haunted carriage? Our traditional horse carriage rides have been given a makeover and will be making their once a year tour so you can catch a glimpse of all of the town’s halloween decorations, as well as heading past the famous Old Town mansions dressed in their spooky finery, a traditional treat for all of the family.
Or perhaps you’d rather celebrate the spooky seasons with a more traditional fright fest? Not to worry, Eureka Theatre has you covered with the return of their annual horror movie marathon. From Friday night till Midnight on Monday morning, drop into the movie theatre to give yourself a fright *specific movie time screenings available at www.eurekatheater.com/halloweenmoviemarathon*
Heading out of town? Make sure to stop off at Pleasant Valley Farms first, where the annual pumpkin patch will be reopening once again perfect for those insta stories and family photo albums, along with the maize maze and Eureka’s famous interactive horror mazes ( over 18s only allowed in the maze ). Just remember, in these mazes, everyone can hear you scream — but no one’s going to rescue you!
And once you’ve put the little witches and ghosts to bed, its time for the real spirits to come alive at the witching hour. Head straight to Vice Nighclub where this years theme is “Night of the Living Dead”. Channel your inner zombie from 10pm till 3am with both resident DJs and a special guest (TBA) and party so hard the dead won’t be able to ignore you
