Mini-review:
The loveliest fantasy anime is finally back! In this second season, the story keeps moving forward at the pleasantly placid pace that has come to characterize this show. Which, in turn, allows the writers to properly deepen the bond between the main trio, one of its biggest appeals. I guess this batch of episodes lacks the stakes of a longer arc, and the ending cuts at a somewhat random point, but I still enjoyed every single second of it. Madhouse's animation remains as stunning as expected, moving with a smoothness and fluidity that seem almost unbelievable at times. There's also something to the overall aesthetic that feels very film-like, which I love. And props to Evan Call for his absolutely gorgeous score, too, cause it's a key component to the show's atmosphere. We already know that Frieren: Beyond Journey's End won't be back until October 2027, but I'll be eagerly waiting for more episodes.
