Reading this paragraph reminds me of how the mechanics in the RB garage described Max as being defined in two parts, pre-2021 and after. Noting he seemed to finally become calmer, knowing he had lifted the literal lifelong weight from his shoulders, placed there by his fathers expectations. There is something so cruel about finally getting a sliver of recognition and acknowledgement from the person who made you believe you didn't deserve it in the first place.

I know Max isn't the only driver on the grid brought up with such a heavy burden. The desperate need to feel like your family's sacrifices weren't in vain. Youth lost to the inside of garages, witnessing family being torn down the middle, all while tensed with the pressure to perform week, after week, after week. Max is one of the few that actually see the dream realized, yet I wonder if he feels the ends justify the means? It's hard to say that they do as an outsider reading all it took to get to this point.

It must be very tough to have hard luck throughout your entire career, grappling in the midfield for points without ever getting a chance at fighting for a championship, after spending your life preparing for one. I don't know whats worse, fighting relentlessly year after year with no success until you're slowly fazed out, feeling like you let down everyone involved along the way and worst of all your family. Or you finally achieve the goal imposed on you for as long as you can remember, only to realize it wasn't worth it. Perhaps a longing for an idyllic childhood where parents didn't have to choose between their children remains. The nagging voice that they drove their family apart doesn't quieten despite the new title.

Or maybe it's the case that by the time the championship is won, that any room for doubts or hesitation has long been filled. The 'grey area' of thoughts is already abolished and the question isn't 'what if this happened' it's 'did this happen' and you simply cope and deal with the answer.

If someones immediate reaction is one of defensiveness to people opposing Kelly's behavior, I hope they'd question whether they would still defend it if the roles were reversed. Her behavior is unfathomable at the best of times and indefensible at the worst.

It's no secret she's fame/relevance hungry but there's nothing immoral about wanting attention. However, the means she chooses to garner the attention she craves is where the more palatable of her dubious decisions occur. For instance, her 2016 tbt whereby she reminded us all of her [redacted] claim that there was 'something magical' that night her (27) and Max (19) met. Adding how Max claimed she was the love of his life the day after meeting. It's questionable as to why she'd choose to draw attention to it, after the dust has somewhat settled.

I suppose entertaining a teenagers infatuation at 27 years old (when said teenager is also participating in a sport your family has generational ties to), doesn't exactly paint a picturesque meet cute. So reality had to be altered to take the appearance of something that could be envied, sweet and pure love at first sight perhaps. I believe the desperation to repaint the narrative in a rose-tinted shade drove her to that post, which has ultimately backfired.

Yet, somehow the strangest part of the entire post was implying she was behind a burner account called Serendipity1818, which is most notable for attempting to spread a rumor that Max is actually the father of her (Kelly's) first child. Disregarding whether she’s the account owner or not (due to the account posting a photo of them not previously public, it seems likely she is), shining the spotlight back on an old rumor, one that directly involves her daughter, is so shameless.

It's one thing to exploit and extract every last drop of marketable value out of Max, but out of her child who has no say in their own circumstances is pathetic. Not the first time she has exploited her child either, considering she repeatedly posted topless photos/videos of her at a young age. How anyone, especially a parent, could ever think that's okay when the internet is crawling with creeps is beyond me. When weighing up internet fame vs the protection of a child’s privacy, I would have hoped there would be no competition.

Other instances of egregious behavior varies from not speaking out against her father's use of racist and homophobic slurs to supporting the former far-right Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro (anti-environmental control measures, pro gun legislation, opposed to lgbtqia+ rights, and generally racist, sexist, and homophobic). Her desperate desire to be envied and seen as living a picture perfect life, seemingly blinds her to the morally gray (gentle description) decisions she frequently finds herself under scrutiny for.
