when Bolsonaro won over here, I was profoundly sad and disillusioned with electoral politics. when the pandemic hit and the death toll in Brazil rose day after day i felt a deep rage building up and I had no idea what to do with it. and when Lula won and started making concession after concession to the ruling elites, disappointment washed over me and finally set me on a personal path to waking up and paying attention, to realizing no actual change can happen through just "voting the problems away", because the game is rigged in favor of the bourgeoisie.
so for any Americans reading this who's upset and sad about the election results: your life and the life of people around the world would not improve had the other candidate won. read Marxist theory and understand the underlying processes at work. hell, you can even listen to videos or podcasts to start understanding this better. above all, go organize your class and fight to make your country better for you, for other marginalized people and, most importantly, to make it stop exporting its violence and exploitation around the world.
if all you can think about in the wake of the election is how next election's gonna play out, then you're missing the point. for the love of god, RADICALIZE yourselves
