Brown hues studied her surroundings, smoke still visible even if the scent no longer lingered in her nostrils. "At least we made it out of there alive." She didn't mind the tents, camping... So long as her heart was still beating.
Teen arrested for arson at championship after-party

Local senior basketball star of the James Monroe Spartans, Holden Bradshaw, 17, took the phrase “we’re on fire” literally on Saturday night when he set a home ablaze after winning the PIAA Class AA basketball championship.
Bradshaw, who attended a party thrown by Jacob Davenport, was under the influence of alcohol when he lit a trail of highly flammable alcohol on a wooden table in the home’s basement. Bradshaw and one other suffered minor injuries due to the flames.
Police were alerted of the fire by an unnamed neighbor who originally called to file a noise complaint. “This was not the first complaint we’ve received about the Davenport residence. Officer Avolio and I were heading over to break up the party when we got the call about the fire. The kid is lucky no one was seriously hurt,” Officer Mark Richards said.
Upon arrival, officers were met with tens of teenagers evacuating the building. Bradshaw was the final person out of the house. Witnesses claim he held a book of matches in his right hand. Three young men reported Bradshaw’s actions to the officers. One of them, Edwin Tuttle, 16, said, “Holden was really drunk. I saw him doing shots, and then I heard he started a competition with matches and wouldn’t take no for an answer.”
Another member of the James Monroe basketball team, Richard Wilson, 17, confirmed the claim, stating, “He just wouldn’t stop, man. I thought for sure we were gonna burn alive down there.”
Firefighters entered soon after to assure the home was all clear and extinguish the fire. While the fire did not exceed the lower level of the home, Fire Marshall Andrew Cooper estimated the damages to be nearly $7,500 worth of repairs.
Bradshaw faced charges after being escorted to Police Headquarters, including arson of the first degree (a felony) and underage consumption of alcohol (a summary offense). He was jailed on $10,000 bail and is due in court on April 3.
Mr. and Mrs. Davenport refused comment.

Michael gripped the glass of water tightly, though his hand evidently trembled as he walked over to Nanette. Ultimately, he felt dizzy and a bit overwhelmed from the riot brewing outside. But at least he had the reassurance that they both made it back to the safety of the penthouse. And according to the text with his family, they were alright too.
"Here you go." He said softly, placing the glass down in front of the blonde. After a moment, he slouched onto the couch. "Are you alright?"
Mason was barely ten feet away when the cinema exploded; barely prepared for the blow back of debris and fire that singed the back of his clothes and throw him a few more feet further away from the building and barely coherent to process the fact that Hook had just walked in merely ten seconds before he disappeared from his peripheral vision. He stared at the mayhem that ensued, trying to make sense of but genuinely only processing one fact: The Cinema was gone.
