As someone who was been heard saying that ‘he has been enjoying the events’ as of late, Rodolphus was not going to be enjoying this particular event. Of course the Blacks had to be hosting a formal brunch the day after the Death Eater mission. It was as if the universe was simply screwing with him. He wasn’t left a choice whether or not he would attend, because he was married to a Black and his absence would be noticed. That was the last thing he wanted. So he made sure to arrive early. He looked presentable, of course he did, despite of the late hour the night before. After greeting his parents-in-law with a smile and a compliment and a quick answer to the question of what they would be doing for their five year anniversary (speaking of things he wasn’t going to enjoy) he headed over to Bellatrix. “Mrs Lestrange,” he greeted with a smile, taking her hand and pressing a kiss to it, all very normal gestures were it not for the fact they were both sleeping with other people. “You look very lovely today.” It was just another compliment. He used to be bad at flattery but it went easier now, as though he finally saw its purpose. The facade fell a couple of seconds later when he ran a hand over his face and sighed. “Please tell me that you serve something strong or that I can at least spike a cup of coffee with firewhiskey.” He was disgusted at the thought. “If this wasn’t hosted by your parents I would not have been here.”
