‘Tis the damn season is so James Taylor to me. It has this charming aura of classic folk. I hear Simon and Garfunkul.
I love seeing Taylor showing off her influences and word witchiness.

evermore feels
I gave this album a first listen last night, taking more explicit notes of first impressions, lyrics that stand out, without repeating a track. One cold listen before sleep, like I did with folklore. To be fair, I had to give myself a moment of reminding myself that this ISN’T folklore, it’s a sister, a stand alone. From that attitude, I’ve been able to stay open.
Overall: her songwriting is the BEST I’ve heard from her. She writes stories. I watched a documentary on Dolly Parton prior to listening to this, and these stories on her albums is why I love Taylor. She’s brilliant and has such a Queen of Swords ability to wield and weave words and worlds. Clown theory I’m on-board with: It’s a trilogy. I would love some Decemberists sea-song, folk-stomp-country music Second listen found some repeats: Marjorie FOREVER, god the storytelling the remembrance and honor of someone you admire, and are they really gone? Coney Island: LOVE the depths of his voice with hers No body, No crime: INSTANT ICON AWARD, country storytelling for the true crime enthusiasts of the order of Harriett, the spy. Ivy: planting roots in my dreamland. <3 Dorothea: Lumineers vibe: Ode to Ophelia/Cleopatra Champagne Problems: is so honest Happiness: going to listen to this one more definitely. Closure: hadn’t really been on the kaylor fan train, but this seems exactly like what karli would do since marrying the kushners. AND: evermore went into Treacherous on Spotify and I love it! This also feels like Red’s big sister. Also, please note all these photos have all left profile facing pics. maybe it’s a family thing? ;) Ok these are my first few thoughts
