another detail i love is how kano calls takane "takane" instead of ene as soon as she gets her body back. everyone else keeps calling her ene but kano... he hung out with her in hs as ayano so he always knew her as takane rather than as ene so it makes sense he immediately switches back to it.

now imagine for takane it's Weird. that he calls her takane. so she goes and asks him if he can just call her ene. and kano is kind of shocked and Kind Of Actually Really ANNOYED but ofc doesnt show it, probably makes some joke and laughs it off. but in reality it hurts his feelings because to him its like she draws a line, completely separates him from a group like the quartet that does call her by her other name. and... ofc it makes sense, bc he wasnt a part of that group he was just Playing a part. he knows very well what the difference is but it still bothers him for some stupid reason that she'd go out of her way to ask such a stupid thing. "it bothered her that much? does it really matter? it's just the name i have for her in my head. this is just a selfish request" etc etc is what i think he pointlessly thinks to himself without really even believing it, just looking for excuses to be annoyed. i looooove to imagine kano pointlessly looks for excuses to be annoyed with takane because he compares her so much to himself but she's like. pretty kind despite everything and he's. well him. so it drives him crazy

i hc ene is kano's first Real friend. bc outside his family members, she's the one he chooses to open up to, so i think he chooses to be closer to her out of all people in the dan. and they match rly well like thats what he even recognizes and the reason why he chooses her in the first place. theyve got the same kind of twisted humor and stuff.... so with something like this for him its kind of a slap in the face like to her, he's not as close a friend as she is to him.... hehe
