It Must Come Down

2 Corinthians 10:1-5(Key Verse 4& 5) New Living Translation (NLT)

1 Now I, Paul, appeal to you with the gentleness and kindness of Christ—though I realize you think I am timid in person and bold only when I write from far away. 2 Well, I am begging you now so that when I come I won’t have to be bold with those who think we act from human motives. 3 We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. 4We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. 6 And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient.

    With the busyness of the holidays finally being over and you have opened up every one of you gifts from the most expensive to least favorite. There was never any time to take down the trees and lights with Christmas still going on. One needs at least two weeks after the chaotic holiday to relapse and wind down from everything that went on. You must return to work, school for all ages including college students has resumed, this is the time when reality kicks in. How many homes including your own do you know still has their trees up? The decorations have been there for weeks, and taking them down could’ve just slipped your mind. But when is the proper time to take them down? Eventually if you keep the lights and tree up past a certain time they won’t match the new season that is approaching. How ironic would it be to have Christmas decorations up in the Spring time or even pushing into the Summer season? There is a time and season for everything, some things you must let go until its time approaches again or something rolls around.

When the seasons change usually people do things differently to signify they recognize something new must happen from this point on. When the Fall season comes usually people change their style of the clothing and wear warmer clothes to put on to match the weather. In the springtime people will do the traditional “spring cleaning” to give their house a thorough cleaning to signify the coming of a new season and change in atmosphere. Just as seasons change so do our lives and the things we encounter daily. When change occurs one must be able recognize it and make adjustments as needed. Just as we change our natural clothing daily we must change our spiritual clothing to match the spiritual battle were in. There is a everyday battle that we face in the natural which is just a manifestation of what is happening in the spiritual. No matter what season or time you’re in the battle is ongoing and must be fought.

It’s a new year which means another level of challenges but more importantly it’s another chance for one to guard up for the spiritual battle we encounter every day. It’s simple just as one prepares for the holiday they must also prepare to face spiritual warfare. It’s a full time job that never ends but must be defended if you want peace in your life. Make it your daily declaration to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and help fight to protect God’s kingdom.

Paul explained it best when he told the Corinth church how to stay fit within a spiritual battle. The battle is on-going so the armor must stay on, the evil and dark forces were facing won’t give in or back down so we must work to destroy them. We are the light of the world, which is our God given power to illuminate (enlighten) darkness. Be and enemy to darkness and let your light shine in those dark places the enemy has tried to keep hidden in your life. Expose him and his foolishness and declare war on him and his army! The Corinth church had attacked Paul’s character because he spoke truth in boldness and he declared his God given authority over every force that tried to control or hinder him. Paul understood that warfare was happening and as believers the Corinth church needed to be prepared. How many times have we lost a spiritual battle because we showed up late or empty handed trying to fight in our strength? We must go prepared ready to defend our promise in God. The only thing stopping us from getting our VICTORY is ourselves may we learn to take those things that wont submit to God and make them obey his word. Any stubborn tactic, force, or attack of the enemy can’t bind or hinder the move of God. We must make our ENEMY work for us, for the word declares in Matthew 18 verse 18 “I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” assign your weapons to operate and work on your behalf. Make darkness obey your voice and demons tremble at the shout of you calling on the name of Jesus. Put Michael (WARRIOR ANGEL) on assignment and make him attend to the war you’re in. That’s his job to attend to God’s people and help them win the spiritual battle         (Daniel 10).

God has given us the ability to uproot, pull down, and snatch back those things that don’t want to obey his word and its command. May we learn to war, the fight has been fixed now we just need to teach our hands to fight! Learn to WAR, and tear down those things that keep you and your family from your freedom and allow you to remain in bondage.

It’s a new season and it’s time you take down the OCCUPIED signs that the enemy has placed on your residency(life). He has been in your personal space too long, take down those things that have hindered you from going forth in your fullest potential in God. Make hell obey your voice and its demons prisoners to the freedom that you are now encountering. It’s only right, Christ died for your freedom now embrace it through the VICTORY you have already won! Amen.
