omg your tags on your reblog of the post i shared has me cackling bc i write a lot of pwp thinking “muahahaha this is it, lads!” and even that sometimes does nothing. it’s the wild west here. no gods, no masters.
i truly can’t figure out what anyone wants. but we vibe lololol.
OKAY LITERALLY LIKE
Sodium Vapor like did wayyyyyyy better than I though it would for something I thought was going to flop hard. Horror Tae fic with multiple major character deaths got a bunch of unexpectedly sweet feedback. Shit, even my fucking weird ass angsty nun fic did better than I thought it would. And like, this is all to say nothing of sleep demon hobi, which??? I really thought would "flop" but really it didn't????? People really liked it which just ... like it blows my mind tbh.
This is kind of why I've just started doing whatever the fuck I want when it comes to stories. Like, I don't pull huge numbers but honestly I'd rather keep making the connections I'm making with folks now than try to master or game the metrics. I get how the metrics work, actually, both here and on AO3, but I think the biggest rule is that yeah, it's a fucking lawless hinterland where the rules are made up and the note numbers don't (or rather, shouldn't) matter. I don't think that's a bad thing tbh. Like there's shit that, if you time it right, will likely do well, but even then that's not always a guarantee.
I'll vibe into the sunset with youuuuu. I want to be here for a both a good time and a long time, and this might be the attitude to take with it.
