“You are my sunshine” :D
NO, she wanted to scream the word, she heard it loudly in her own head, but sound escaped her mouth. She was silent, her breath caught in her throat as she saw Ned take the blade to him, the blade which seemed to come from nothing and everything all at the same time. The silver of the steel shimmered in the sun, like diamonds, but she did not move, did not move a single muscle, was frozen where she stood, until she saw the ruby red, the blood which stained the blade, which poured from Ned’s heart, the heart she so loved. Then, she moved. She paid no mind to the men attempting to hold her back, or any dangers which might lie in her way, she saw only Ned, cared only for Ned. She reached him in moments and only when she was upon his fallen form did she finally find her voice once more.
“Ned....Ned....” The tears were already falling, salty and clear, dripping down into the blood which was so quickly soaking the ground, soaking her skirts, soaking her hands. She wrapped her arms around him, and pulled him close, his head in her lap, and cried; she would not be strong for him, she had never had need to hide her feelings, be they bad or good, from Ned; she had always shown her fear freely, her love, her happiness, her sadness and now....her heartbreak.
“Ned.....” She could say nothing else, she tried, but the tears caught in her throat, choking her voices, breaking her voice. “No...Ned...please....” She pressed her hand upon the wound, she tried to stem the flow of blood, but it continued to gush, and her husband’s face grew paler, his eyes more faint. The blood soaked the ends of her hair, sticky and clinging,...she leaned forward and pressed her cheek to his. She cried endlessly...she could not bear it, it had to be some nightmare, some terrible plague of the mind, she could not lose Ned, not now, not like this. No....he was the rock she had built her life on and now...now she felt it turning to sand beneath her feet, torn away by the sea, washing away....
“No, Ned...No....” She wept as she kissed him on the lips, but felt her heart turn to ash as his lips did not return her touch, and when she pulled away she saw his eyes had turned glassy, looking but not seeing.....gone. Just gone. And she sat and wept.
"Kiss me like you wanna be loved."
Ed Sheerhan Sentence Starters
She froze in his arms, their lips a mere breath away from one another. This arrangement between them had gone smoothly thus far, until those words were uttered. It should have meant nothing. Probably had meant nothing.
But still, she pulled away silently, unable to meet his gaze.
