The two men sat for a good while talking about nothing specific. It was mostly about family and some bit of the science Rask was hoping for but he didn’t want to push that subject too hard given his past. In truth it all took him off guard how casual the whole situation was given how seriously some people at central seemed to take this guy. To Olin though, he just seemed like a normal man, who really only cared about taking care of those he loved. He had heard some stories, tales of more violent tendencies but he had a feeling there were reasons for those moments.
“So speaking of grandchildren,” Bastian got a sly glimmer in his eye, “Am I to understand you have an attraction to my Noma?”
“Oh fuck.” Olin choked out without thinking, “I mean fuck I don’t know...”
“It’s okay, she’s a very lovely child and there’s a lot more to her than people see at face value. You noticed that didn’t you boy?" The redhead replied with pride, “You do know her father is former SEED right? Bitch even spied on me for a while but I forgave him cause for some reason I just like that asshole. He be a real dick but his heart is in the right place.”
Well that explains a lot. Rask thought to himself as he nervously laughed out loud hoping Bastian didn’t know the full extent of how he fucked up that situation.
“You should be aware, he will definitely not be okay with me giving you my blessing.”
“Well YOU should be aware that she clearly hates me as I haven’t talked to her in months but if she didn’t, respectfully I wouldn’t need it. She’s the only one that can give me permission for anything.”
“I know but I’m giving it anyway.” Bastian answered smugly, “And you’ll work it out, at least if you try to. Not like she’s truly mad at you, you did the right thing. She just doesn’t like having her failings pointed out and fuck is Tidus good at salting those fucking wounds when he’s in the right mood. I think I may have to make his bar disappear next time I go over there. He really needs another hobby.”
“Well knowing her I’m sure she’s making him pay for it.”
“Oh trust me she is, there’s really no greater power that motivates a Yager quite like spite.”
