If you ever find yourself mad about "trans lesbian separatism" or "baeddelism" or whatever word you've found to paint trans women having solidarity/community with each other as exclusionary, have you considered not burning every bridge you have with transfems while expecting us to be the ones to put all the effort into rebuilding them while you hold the burning torch, and maybe JUST MAYBE considered listening to us when we talk about transmisogyny and worked to making this a safer space for us.

Like I dunno I think if I had a problem where transfems deal with such scrutiny and vitriol in the queer community that trans women have their whole community ripped out from them so they seek out like-minded trans women who aren't going to abandon them the instant that associating with them would negatively affect their social credibility and I was someone invested in TransUnity™ that the solution would be to work on the transmisogyny problem to make my community a safer space so they wouldn't feel the need to do that instead what y'all are doing which is witch hunting for trans women you can brand as exclusionists for the purpose of excluding them. Which you know, only makes the "trans women don't feel safe in the queer community" problem worse. This is literally yall rn

I saw a post several weeks ago where someone was saying "Keep the LGBT, drop the Q+."

And like. Babe. Your exclusion isn't the RIGHT exclusion because it accepts trans people.

Trans folks generally start as a Q (Questioning) and may even join my enby ass in the Q (Queer; I don't consider myself trans as enby is exactly where I have been for a very long time and have no expectations of growing a gender).

And to say "drop the Q+" means you are saying, specifically, to drop the QIA.

So, the questioning/queer, intersex, and the ace. The three most attacked, belittled, and insulted groups in the entire umbrella.

It's just TERF fuckery re-aligning to its original starting point of bullying ace people and anyone else they deemed "insignificant" enough to the queer family that people wouldn't push back.

It's exclusionary horseshit. All of it. Every time. You push back because either we're all in this together or you're the fucking exclusionist.

Also, I saw this post because the person saying it followed me. The queer. The stated queer. The very loud queer. The QUEER.

I try to hold a lot of compassion for the types of folks who are drowning in their own misery, who have so identified with their own victimhood or who are so overwhelmed by their own traumas that they lash out laterally or down against other members of their own community or other groups. Because I've been there before, and the only reason I was able to start digging myself out and make better choices was because I found myself in a safer place with better support and was given a chance to start healing my own shit. I know that when you're in that place, it feels like everything and everyone is against you, regardless of the evidence, that you're all alone in your own unique hell and there's no way that anybody else could ever possibly understand you, let alone be on your side. An unfortunate side effect of suffering is that it makes you shortsighted. When you're in pain, getting that recognized and getting your pain stop feels like the single most important thing in the world to you, because it is.

But we've seen over and over again, with TERFs, Baeddels and TIRFs, ace exclusionists and bi exclusionists, many white feminists who ignore the intersection between race and gender—and plenty of other situations outside of my own niche in queer & gender studies—that playing oppression olympics and competing to divide our community and push out anyone that our perpetually activated nervous systems think might be a threat, only weakens us. It erodes solidarity, it isolates us, it makes us less powerful and ironically fulfills our own self-created prophecy that no one will ever have our back. Ultimately, I really, really understand why it's hard to trust other people, even other queer folks, and it's absolutely true that the queer community has its share of humans who fuck up or cause harm, and that there needs to be transparency and accountability in our groups, just like every other community—but you cannot push everybody away from you all the time and then cry about being alone. Or, I guess you can—but it's not a successful strategy for creating change.

That post said "able bodied allies of disabled people." That is clearly posing "disabled" as the opposite of "able-bodied," which implies anybody who isn't physically disabled isn't disabled at all. And this notion is extremely common in the disabled community. People without physical disabilities are constantly excluded and deemed not "disabled" enough, not having an "actual" disability," not having a disability that comes with "true" hardship. I am forced to see this bullshit exclusionism every single day. I am forced to see the disabled community constantly pretend that "disabled" means only "physically disabled." Why is it never the other way around? Why does nobody ever say "disabled" to mean only people with mental illnesses? If this wording doesn't matter, then shouldn't I also constantly be seeing people do the same to physically disabled people?

Even the founder of cripplepunk peddled this shit and was openly sanist against mentally disabled people. "Can physically disabled people talk about anything" is a hilarious thing to say when almost every single post about disabilities is about only physically disabled people, while mentally disabled people continue to be excluded from the community and treated like shit. So you can get off your fucking high horse. Maybe you should actually give a shit about the people you constantly use as a throne. You're no different than the gay people who exclude bisexuals and pansexuals. You're no different than the trans women who exclude trans men. You're no different than a terf or radical feminist who cannot stand not being at the very top of the oppression hierarchy that assholes like you have created. How dare anybody have a problem with being treated like shit by you, huh?
