X-Men '97 X Exhausted! Reader
Characters: Cable, Cyclops, Jean Gray, Wolverine, Storm, Jubilee, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Magneto, Morph and Rogue.

A/N: First time writing Storm, kinda nervous lol! Should I add Beast to the list in the future? I hope you enjoy the request! It's good to be back!
Cable
“That mission was tough wasn’t it? Why don’t you take it easy for the rest of the day… Don’t worry about me, it’s my job to worry about you.”
Usually when the both of you are done with work, Cable would spend the rest of his evening practicing for any future battles and setting up tactics that could help in the impending war. So you won’t see him until the next morning with coffee, dismissing the idea of taking a break when you suggest it for him. But when you are tired from work and missions? You might as well call this man the biggest hypocrite ever.
He will waste no time taking you to your bed and making sure you get the proper rest you not just deserve, but need. Expect this man to join you as well in relaxation, wrapping his arm around you and letting you lay his head against his chest so you can hear his heartbeat. If you want him to comb his hands through your hair, he’ll do it without complaints. And if you ask for kisses, expect your forehead to be showered in pecks. Cable knows better than anyone else that the war you're fighting can be exhausting, which is why he’ll do his best to make sure you take care of yourself. He may not look after himself, but he will definitely look out for his beloved.
Cyclops
“Hey, are you alright? You look a little tired. Let's get you back to the manor and get some rest, okay?”
As soon as you get back to the manor with the team after a mission and you show signs of fatigue, Cyclops is quickly making sure you get some rest. He’ll make sure you both shower and take care of loose ends, but after that? X-Men’s leader will make it very clear that you are off limits for the rest of the day to regain your energy. But you’re not the only one because your sweet boyfriend will be in the same boat. Your day to unwind will be filled with breakfast in bed crafted personally by Cyclops himself, watching the news before indulging in some films, and more importantly? Cuddles.
Believe it or not, Scott is amazing at delivering cuddles contrary to his cookie cutter management of his team. He strokes your hair and whispers how proud he is of you keeping the team together during times he couldn’t. He gives you your flowers in endless compliments and sweet kisses peppered around your face. And if you sleep against him, he’ll look at you with hearts in his eyes before he drifts into a much needed slumber with you. The only condition he has is you don’t go telling the team about these precious moments. The last thing he needs is to give Wolverine and Morph fuel for mockery.
Gambit
“Mon amour, you look worn out. You’re not sick, are you? How about Gambit take you back home and fix you up some gumbo?”
Whenever you are tired from hero work, expect Gambit to make a special spa just for you. You’ll be surprised to see him set up a bath for you after giving you a much needed massage. He’ll also fix you up a nice dinner before ending your exquisite night watching your favorite movie if not binging your favorite tv show. While you are both in bed together, he’ll hold your body so close to his own, watching tv together in silence. Though he’s also not against talking if you would prefer that. Besides, it's a great excuse to hear your lovely voice as the last thing before sleeping into the next day.
If you end up sleeping before him, he will simply watch you in content and stroke your back, making sure you are as comfortable and relaxed as you can be. If you are still a bit tired the next day, Gambit is giving you his special treatment all over again and making sure if the team needs you to inform them you’re taking a break. It’s days like this that you are lucky to have such a sweet romantic partner in Gambit. The team knows it just as much as you do. You make it a note to yourself to repay him, but Gambit denies every time. He’s at peace whenever son Amour is at peace.
Jean Gray
“Are you alright, honey? You let me finish this up so we can get back home and relax, alright?”
Jean is quick to set something up for the both of you outside the manor to help you relax from a week of countless missions. She’ll take you for a walk to clear your mind and just enjoy the sunshine against your body. She’ll also set up a picnic for the both of you, feeding you fruits and finger food while getting lost in how breathtaking you look under the beaming sun. When night dawns on the both of you, she’ll take you back to the manor to get ready to sleep, but not just any sleep. An ethereal drift into slumber.
She’ll have you two cuddle together, laying her head into the crook of your neck and relaxing at the feeling of your chin on top of her head before using her powers to take the both of you into her mind and enjoy a space of inner peace together. It’s never enough for Jean to just cuddle you, she needs to be much closer than that and travelling to the subspace is the best way to accomplish such a thing. And it’s always a treat that when you both sleep, you both wake up to one another not just in the mental plane but also the physical plane. Sometimes she wishes she could just stay that way with you, but she knows you guys have to get back to work eventually.
Jubilee
“Man, I’m beat! You are too?! Then come on, let’s head back and play some games together!”
For someone like Jubilee, relaxing is spending the whole day in her room playing video games and eating a bunch of snacks. It’s her go to definition for regaining energy. And as her lover, it’s bound to be yours too. So when you told her you were exhausted, she was quick to get into acts of service mode and take you to her bedroom to play your favorite game. You quickly indulge in this, playing the game alongside her while she teases you about how amazing you are.
When you are too tired to continue playing though, Jubilee doesn’t whine about wanting to sleep and instead welcomes it! She’ll happily make sure you both get a shower before slipping into her bed and snuggling into your arms. No team members would dare to enter her room while you two are sleeping unless they want their face to be met with a barrage of fireworks. Your rest and relaxation is very important to Jubilee and she wants you to get every ounce of it. Because she knows it's rare you two have moments to just be, she cherishes the times you both have together to rest up before the next mission.
Magneto
“My love, one moment of your time, please… I want you to stay here and get some rest. You need it. And you know I’m right about that, don’t you?”
No matter what the case may be, Magneto is sending the X-Men on missions. Crime and prejudice doesn’t wait or rest for anyone, so that means days off are a rarity for the team. So you can always expect him to send you and the team off to take care of a crime scene… What you can never expect though is when he pulls you away at the last minute and proposes a day for just the two of you. You never have to tell Magneto you are tired because of his keen eye to detail. Your sluggish work on the job? How it seemed at meetings you’d be in your own world? He sees it all and is willing to fix that.
So while the team is dealing with racist humans and radical mutants, you are showered in care and acts of service from the leader who always peppers your hands and face in kisses. The man is at your beckon call for everything, especially cuddling. The team will sometimes find you two just laying together and holding one another in his room and roll their eyes. It’s cute that you are able to warm the former leader of the brotherhood’s heart, but you guys make your whole team sick with your romantic antics. Magneto doesn’t give a damn though. As long as work is done and you’re rejuvenated, he’s content.
Morph
“Y/N, you’re not getting sick on me now, are you?... Wait, you’re tired?! Well why didn’t you tell me earlier? Let’s get you back home!”
Their lover is tired? They’re acting on that and fast! Morph will drop everything, not caring even if they’re in the middle of a mission to get you somewhere so you can relax. When everything is settled on the field and work is properly done, they’re making sure you stay in bed and attend to your every need. Because of their love for humor, they will make a bunch of jokes that are bound to make you smile and make his heart flutter as you relax in bed.
And if you want to cuddle with them, you don’t have to ask twice because they will immediately cuddle up to you and be off limits from work for the rest of the day. Cuddling with Morph has always been nice, so to cuddle with them while trying to regain your energy again, it’s delightful. Just don’t be scared out of your skin if they decide to play a joke on you and shapeshift into someone else when you wake up. All in all, relaxing with Morph is fun. Minus the next day teasing from Logan of course.
Nightcrawler
“Is everything alright, mein liebling? You’re moving weirdly and keep closing your eyes? Oh hase, please tell me you’re not wearing yourself out.”
Nightcrawler is quick to realize something is wrong with you when you’re tired. So when you’re done on a mission with him, he’s quickly asking if everything’s alright. When you tell him you’re exhausted from work, he’ll try his best to set up an itinerary full of your favorite activities to do when you both get back to the manor. He’ll also ask the team to help him make sure you’re getting proper rest long after you do get the usual pip back in your step.
If all you wish to do is lay in bed with him and just take in his warmth, he’s more than happy doing that as well. He can never say no to a cuddling sesh filled with soft strokes of your hand into his dark curls. At the end of the day, Nightcrawler just wants to be sure you are okay and not pushing yourself past your limit because of superhero work. That’s why even after you get better, he’s asking about your wellbeing. And if you become tired again, he’s never hesitant to spend another day of relaxation with his liebling.
Rogue
“Now wait a darn minute. I know you can move faster than that! What’s going on, hon? You tired or something?... You are?! Then let’s head back because I’m feeling tired too!”
You’re tired? Suddenly Rogue is tired too! What a coincidence! Jokes aside, Rogue knows a thing or two to do as soon as you tell her you’re feeling worn out. Peaceful flights around the city are a must followed by a visit to your favorite cafe for some coffee or tea. Right after that, she’ll take you back to some sightseeing, having lovely chatter in the air away from work and the team so you both can clear your heads.
Though if you rather something more grounded, no pun intended, Rogue isn’t against having a spa day in the manor. She’d also be open to reading with you while you’re snuggled up in your bed, sometimes reading you a story to drift you off to sleep. The whole day she’s making sure the both of you are enjoying yourselves on your day off and feeling refreshed for the following day. Even if you’re not, that’s more than okay because she won’t either, which is always a great excuse to spend more time together and get your energy back up.
Storm
“Is everything alright, dear? Come here, let me check your temperature… Hmm, you don’t feel hot, but you are a bit sluggish. When we’re done here, let's take the rest of the day off.”
When it comes to Storm and taking care of the mind and body, she takes it very seriously. That’s why when everyone was finished with their work for the day and you all returned to the manor, she wastes no time setting up a day for the both of you to recharge. She’ll take you out of the city on a trip to just get lost in the beauty of nature and actually relax somewhere absent of the X-Men’s antics for a good amount of time. Storm is always not one to hesitate making a home cooked meal for you that is sure to fill you up and make you feel as warm as her cuddles do.
She’s not one who gets excited at the idea of cuddling, but when you want it, she finds it hard to say no and immediately holds you throughout the night while humming a small tune to drift you to sleep. When you both are recharged, she’s taking you back to the manor. Just don’t be surprised if she starts to keep a keen eye on you from now on. She’d rather you tell her when you’re tired, but even if you don’t, she’ll know and be quick to book another getaway for the both of you.
Wolverine
“Feeling under the weather, huh, pup? I wish you’d have said something until now, but no use crying over spilled milk.”
This man has been working for hundreds of years. So he’s always looking for a good excuse to take it easy for a few days. And you being exhausted is one of them. Wolverine will make sure when you both get back to the manor that you get something to eat, wash yourself off and get ready to spend a day in bed with him. He’s usually someone who is against spending a day in bed because he defines his days of relaxation as training or getting a cold brew and basking in the sun.
But if you rather lay around and call it a day, he’s not against it. He’ll be quick to hold you in his strong arms, brushing your own with his thumbs and occasionally kissing your cheek if not your ear as you fall asleep against him. The next morning he’s sure to have Morph help him cook you breakfast before asking if you feel better to work again. If you do, he’ll quick hop back into action with you. But if not, that’s cool too. Just more time for him to spend with you and shower you in love.
