His eyes closed for a moment as he remembered to breathe, the pain meds and cures doing little for his condition at this point. He’d heard the nurses say they might have to induce a coma for his injuries to fully heal. Even then, some of the damage was permanent.
"…Shhh, ‘nuffa that…" Seifer shushed the young woman at his bedside, offering her a barely-there smile and a half-hearted glare. His cold hand grasped at hers, giving it a weak squeeze as his eyes met hers. "None a this is your fault…Don’t…even think about blamin’ yourself for it…"
He turned his head when he said the next part, feeling a little silly about it, despite the truth in the words, “I always wanted to save damsels in distress…Finally got to when you came ‘round…”
His words made her heart ache. "How can you say that? All of this is my fault." Her expression saddened even more as she felt how cold his hand was. It was like the situation with Scarlet all over again. She had caused the pain and sickness her grandmother had suffered through. And now, Seifer..
There was no way in hell she was letting that happen again. She pulled her seat closer to him, close enough for what she wanted to do. She held his gaze as she spoke. "Would you let me heal you?" It wouldn't be healing, but he didn't need to know that. If he let her, she would take on as much of it as she could. Genna couldn't bare the thought of having someone else suffer because of a mistake she had made. She just couldn't.
The only problem was convincing him to let her do it. A promise was a promise, even if it was just to herself. She wouldn't use her powers on anyone without their permission. "It.. It won't hurt." It wouldn't hurt him, anyway. "I hate seeing you in so much pain.."
