He turned on the lights and closed the door behind you three, blocking off the noise that had drifted upstairs. There was a knock on your door, and you grinned from ear to ear as you shot out of your seat on your couch to go answer the door. Sliding easily across the floor in your socks, you opened up the door, grinning at the figure who stood in front of it. “Hi, baby!” You said as you slipped on your shoes that were by the door.

“Hey babe,” Hansol smiled at you with that cute dopey grin of his, holding his hands behind his back. “Ready to go bowling?” he asked as you picked up the pink wrapped box next to your purse.

You nodded excitedly, closing the door behind you as the two of you made your way out to the sidewalk. One of his hands left the box that was obviously behind his back to reach out for yours, his slightly calloused fingers grabbing onto yours and intertwining while you walked down the street together. Soon enough, he was opening the door for you as you walked into the nearest bowling alley. It was a little worse for wear, but still in relatively good condition, which was good enough for the two of you. Not many people were there, just what looked to be another couple. You two got your shoes and made your way to your lane, placing the gifts on the bench.

“I’m going to win this time,” Hansol said as he pulled on his bowling shoes.

You couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh really? Since when have you ever won?”

“Hey, I won once!”

“By one point!”

“It was still a win,” He laughed softly, watching you stand up and go to choose your ball.

“Alright, so let’s make a bet then. If I win, next date I get to choose what we do the entire day.”

You gave him a joking smirk as you grabbed the bowling ball of your choice and he put your names into the computer. “You won’t win, but the same will go for you. You’ll get to choose next time.”

Hansol smiled at you from over his shoulder. “Ladies first then.”

“And another win for me,” you giggle as you walk out of the bowling alley into the freezing cold. The wind had picked up again and light flurries were falling down, not enough to stick or even be considered snowing yet. Hansol followed out after you, laughing as he smiled at you, a look of adoration in his eyes.

“I wouldn’t expect anything less from you, babe,” he said, pulling you close to his side by your waist and kissing your forehead gently.

With his signature dopey grin, he ordered a piece of cheesecake and two hot chocolates. As soon as it was ordered, he put his carefully wrapped gift on the table, sliding it over to you. “I’m excited for you to open it,” he said. “I got Joshua to help me wrap it, but I did the ribbon myself.”

The box was almost square in shape, leaving you with very little clues as to what it could be. The wrapping paper was a pale pink with simple red hearts and topped with a nicely tied bow. But that could wait a moment. You took out your present to him and handed it over. “You first,”you insisted.

Knowing you would continue to insist, he swiftly opened up his gift, looking down at the two leather bound notebooks in his hands. Both had his rapper name “Vernon” inscribed on the cover in a bold lettering.

“You’re always running out of notebooks for your lyrics. I thought it might be nice if you had some personalized ones,” You grinned over at him.

Hansol put a hand over his mouth in shock. “Wow, these are amazing!” He looked at you, his eyes sparkling with joy. “As always, you’re amazing.” Placing the notebooks down on the table, he grinned. “It’s your turn now.”

You laughed. “You really want me to open this up. Alright, my turn then.”

Sliding the ribbon off, you tore off the wrapping paper and opened up the box, sticking your hand inside and pulling out the object inside. It was a controller to your favorite game console but in your favorite color. Pretty designs covered it, and on the side, it had your name in a glittering silver in a beautiful curly font.

“I thought it was about time you got your own personal controller, considering how much you love playing games. I wasn’t sure about the colors, but I tried my best to do something that looked nice,” he said nervously, twisting his fingers in his hand nervously as you looked over the controller he had put so much thought into getting for you.

“Hansol,” You said softly. “I love it.” You grinned from ear to ear as you looked up at him.

He stopped twisting his fingers, looking up as he smiled softly. “Really?”

You nodded softly and leaned over, giving him a gentle kiss on the cheek. “This is amazing. Thank you so much.”

His cheeks flushed a soft pink as he laughed gently. “I’m so glad you like it.”

The waitress came over and you both cleaned up your gift mess and put it to the side as she placed down the cheesecake and the hot chocolates.

“Hey babe?” Hansol smiled softly as he watched you take the first bite of cheesecake. Your turned your attention back to him rather than to the cheesecake.

“Yes baby?”

Soonyoung groaned from his seat across from you, his head tilting back against the compartment wall. Your best friend was always like this. He didn’t hate school, but he didn’t particularly love it either. You both, however, liked that it meant spending more time together. While the two off you been friends since the first year of school, you didn't get to see him as often as you like. The beginning of the school year always promised more time to hang out, even with schoolwork.

Seungkwan came in and hugged Soonyoung, giving him a kiss on both cheeks, and doing the same to you. This was an ordinary custom of Seungkwan’s, stemming from the fact that he spent a lot of his time in Italy with his mother’s family. “Buongiorno!” The boy smiled as he sat down next to you.

Soonyoung and Seokmin sat together on the other bench across from you, the three of them instantly launching into their usual banter, banter that you easily fit into. After spending years with this trio, it was inevitable that you had become an unofficial member of the “Gag Trio”, which would actually make you the “Gag Quartet”, but that was semantics that had been debated heatedly beforehand.

As the four of you goofed off, your volume going up with time, someone poked their head in. “Could you four please quiet down?” A soft accented voice said, smiling gently through the strands of long hair that fell into their face from their long ponytail.

“Of course Maman Jeonghan,” Seokmin smiled widely back at the older Hufflepuff. “Were you just napping?”

The older boy shook his head. “No. The Prefects are making their last rounds, so I had to come check on my most troublesome enfants.” Jeonghan chuckled as he leaned against the doorframe. “Before any harsher Prefect came around to scold you.”

“Who would scold us?” Seungkwan scoffed, rolling his eyes. “Seungcheol? Joshua? They’re just as soft as you are.”

“Of course they are. However, Amy isn’t,” Jeonghan said, making everyone in the compartment fall silent at the mention of the Ravenclaw Head Girl, who was much stricter than the other Heads and Prefects. The older boy chuckled and moved off of the doorframe. “So please, keep it down for your maman.”

“Yes Maman Jeonghan!” you all replied in unison.

Not long after Jeonghan left, Seokmin and Seungkwan left as well to go check on their toad and cat, and mostly make sure the cat hadn’t eaten Seokmin’s toad...again. Soonyoung was starting to bounce his leg as he looked out the window.

“Less than an hour left Soons,” you said softly.

He nodded and continued to stare out the window. You decided to take action to try and de-stress him. He always got this right before they got to school, and you know the one thing that always helped soothe him.

“Wanna play with my hair?” you asked softly.

Soonyoung couldn’t help but grin and nod energetically. You moved onto the floor in front of him as he crossed his legs in his lap. Your back leaned against the compartment seat as he started to run his hands through your hair, occasionally stopping to twist or play with an individual section of hair. You had to admit, it was pretty nice for you too. Naturally, your head tilted back against the boy’s legs, and you looked up at his face. He was handsome, of course. As you got older, it was getting more and more obvious. And you’d be lying to yourself if you said that you didn’t have the tiniest crush on him, but you would never mention anything about it. After all, you guys were friends and you didn’t want to lose that.

He continued to play with your hair as you slowly closed your eyes. You were surprised when you felt what had to be his nose press into your hair. He had never done that before.

“You smell so nice,” he muttered into your hair.

“Thanks?”

Soonyoung laughed softly and pulled away from your hair, staring down at your now open eyes.

“Thank you,” he whispered before leaning down to kiss your forehead.

You couldn’t help the heat that moved up towards your cheeks, and Soonyoung cleared his throat as he pulled back.

“We’re almost there. We should get ready to go,” he said, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck.

You got up from the floor, fixing your uniform and smiling to yourself before moving to clean up the compartment, which had be littered with candy wrappers. As the Hogwarts Express came to a stop, you lost your balance, falling towards Soonyoung, who caught you, and then proceeded to fall back onto the compartment bench, taking you down with him. Your laugh got stuck in your throat as you realized how close your faces were. Soonyoung was frozen, staring into your eyes.

“Hey guys, le-” Seokmin stopped mid-word when he saw the two of you on top of each other.

You both had no hesitation in leaping away from each other, pretending like nothing happened as you finished cleaning up and quickly left the compartment.

“You owe me 20 Sickles,” Seungkwan smirked from behind Seokmin before following after you and Soonyoung, on to start a new school year.
