For some people, "getting away with murder" is a turn of phrase. For corporations, it's a way of life, or more specifically, it's a way of doing business, and pharmaceutical companies are no exception.
Just like Amazon, Apple, and other giant corporations, pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson systematically prioritize profits over people. Furthermore, they fund a significant portion of the FDA, the CDC, and the American Pediatrics Association.

In other words, there is a huge conflict of interest for the FDA, the CDC, and the American Pediatrics Association when it comes to approving drugs or treatments submitted by pharmaceutical companies, which conduct their own research on their own drugs, instead of submitting them to a third party to review their safety and efficacy. In other words, big pharma typically grades its own homework.
In other words, just because a drug or a treatment is approved by the FDA, doesn't necessarily mean the general public should believe the treatment is safe.
And even if the treatment has been shown to be extremely dangerous, it takes considerable amounts of money, tenacious law suits, skilled lawyers, and years (even decades) to hold the pharmaceutical companies accountable for the harm these treatments/drugs may cause, and to get the FDA to retract their approval.

The FDA, the CDC, and the American Pediatrics Association have a duty to protect the American people. They need and deserve funding, but it cannot come from these giant pharmaceutical companies. The pharmaceutical companies need to be subservient to them, not the other way around. There is a huge conflict of interest here, and it is causing grave harm to the American people.
