From Meltdowns to Masterpieces: How Emotional Intensity Fuels Creativity For many neurodivergent individuals, emotional intensity is not jus
Neurodivergent creators, this one’s for you! Your emotional intensity isn’t a flaw—it’s a creative force waiting to be unleashed. Learn how to embrace your unique energy and turn emotional highs and lows into something beautiful. From writing to art, find your perfect outlet for self-expression.
Happy Monday, everyone! I don't know why each weekend only feels like two 1-hour lunch breaks, but here's to starting another week (and month!) with hope and perseverance! ✨
I also wanted to share with you three pieces I created last week during a workshop on cultivating well-being through the arts! I have to admit that I lost count of the similar workshops I attended while in lockdown, but being in the same (virtual) space as people who are looking to exhale and turn inward brings a calm to my heart and mind. It’s such a beautiful and serene communion between strangers, and I'm really glad that art makes that possible. 💖
This is a flashback to my paintings "As Open Wounds Open Wings" and ".38 With A .38 (The Speed Of Eternal Stillness)" on exhibit for "Recovering The Artist: A Show About Hope" at Martha Pace Swift Gallery. It was a show put on by the Expressive Arts Institute, which specializes in art therapy. I feel like this after hours shot really captures the pulse of isolation and emptiness that accompanies the social distancing era and the last two months of quarantine. As Mental Health Awareness Week winds down, I feel like it is more imperative than ever that we talk about it and open those doors to eliminate the distance between us...hopefully coming closer (as we are distanced) to a place of acceptance and understanding. For every person you are aware is struggling with mental health issues, there are like a dozen more you know but do not know about...a dozen more whose struggles you do not see.
