Starting off my good friend @pinescrow's challenge to write every day throughout September with a scene intended as both a warm-up and a character dynamic ‘pat-map’.

I do this sometimes—take two characters from a project that is still largely amorphous and have them interact in a context situated somewhere outside the central vein of the story’s plot. It’s people-watching, essentially, except the people in question exist entirely inside my head.

whenever I write for NBC lists, I need to sneak at least one vignette in there...weirdly this revisits the universe of one I wrote back in October of 2021. might expand it, we’ll see.

Two prompt fills for @nosebleedclub’s October list. This time around I decided to write opening passages to stories that otherwise go nowhere, because I find the beginning to be the hardest part. I’ve got a few other prompts in my sight; I’ll be filling them throughout the week between uni assignments. Stay tuned !
