Eye spiders use their shapeshifting abilyties to comunicate(here we see a very happy domestic spider)
Transcript of Interview Regarding Incident 19223-R [Clearance Level Z2Blue or higher required]
Interviewer: Please speak directly into the microphone. The assistant can hold it closer if need be. I understand that your injuries don't allow a lot of movement yet.
S1: Thank you. It really hurts to bend right now.
Interviewer: This is the interview with ██████ ███████ of ██████████████. To be designated in this interview as S One for ease of transcription later. Now I understand that at the time of the incident you were working as a civilian consultant for ██████████████ and not actually directly on the payroll as a normal employee.
S1: Jesus, I dunno how you can be so... cold about this. You saw the pictures, right?
Interviewer: Please just answer the questions with as much detail as you can. I understand this is an emotional time for you but our organization requires precision to prevent further loss of life.
S1: Okay, okay. I'll do my best.
S1: People were seeing weird things in ███████. Stuff out of the corner of their eyes. Some of them said it was bugs. Others said small shadows or rodents I guess. But they called me up and a few other folks when the disappearances started.
Interviewer: Other consultants in [REDACTED]?
S1: Yes. Not all of them worked in [REDACTED]. Some were in different fields like ██████████████ or ███████. Anything our employer thought might be relevant to both the disappearances and hallucinations... well what we thought were hallucinations at the time.
Interviewer: Can you tell me anything about the disappearances themselves?
S1: Generally they showed up with increasing spottings of the... um... anomalies and the... um... auditory hallucinations? Look, I'm not the same kind of professional as you. I don't know how to science this up.
Interviewer: You're doing fine. Continue.
S1: They claimed that they were seeing the eye spiders more often before they disappeared.
Interviewer: Eye spiders?
S1: It's a nickname. To be honest, none of us really got a good look. We just knew they had a lot of legs, were kind of greyish and had one to maybe five large cat like eyes on their backs. And you always heard whispers when they were near.
NOTE: *video feed shows S1 looking around from her hospital bed, her eyes darting about the room*
Interviewer: Is something wrong?
S1: *laughs nervously* No, nothing. Where was I again?
Interviewer: Let's continue at your search of the office building in question
S1: Right, okay. Jesus. That was the worst. Floor ██ smelled really bad. The employees wouldn't even go in there anymore, those that had been sticking around even with all the other creepy shit happening.
S1: The first person to find something was ██████. He screamed, honestly I've never heard a guy with such a deep voice scream like that before, it was really unnerving.
Interviewer: He had found something?
S1: God yeah. Several of us threw up when we got there. I mean, we knew it had been human once but what could possibly do that to a person's body?
Interviewer: Would it be possible for you to describe what you saw? In as much detail as you are able.
S1: *swallows and closes her eyes*
S1: The um... the body had been ugh... [REDACTED]. It honestly didn't look human any longer. But I mean, you could still see some of the basic human shape to it, I mean, what was actually there and what was on the ground in the janitor's closet was clearly blood. I just don't know how you could do that to human skin without it tearing. And we never did find most of the internal organs or bones either, beyond the ones jammed into the back of the wall.
Interviewer: And the other bodies you found?
S1: They were all hidden and in the same state as the first one. I mean, there were some differences. The stretching and where the [REDACTED]. But it was clear that the same basic thing had happened to each one of the missing office workers. *Starts looking around again, whimpers*
Interviewer: Are you okay? Do you want to reschedule this interview?
S1: No, I really need to get this done. *laughs nervously* That job really taught me that you never know how much time you have, you know?
Interviewer: Alright, continue.
S1: After about two hours in the building we began to experience the same hallucinations.
Interviewer: The eye spiders?
S1: Yes. Always just outside of direct vision. Yet they always seemed to be looking at you. And the urgent whispering.
Interviewer: Whispering?
S1: Like little voices. Maybe children's voices? Or adolescents? You couldn't quite make out what they said half the time. At least not until the team began disappearing.
Interviewer: At about *checks a clipboard* 4 hours in, was when these disappearances began occurring?
S1: Yeah. Each one complained about more and more whispering and more sightings right before we lost contact. Sometimes you'd hear a scream over the radio too. The problem was, the power went out after two of the team members, ██████ ████ and █████ ████ ████████ went missing. The elevators weren't working and when we tried to use the stairwell, all the doors were locked.
Interviewer: Were you aware that office personnel on other floors were experiencing the same accelerated disappearances and high intensity hallucinations as your team during this time? We have transcripts of multiple outgoing cell phone calls.
S1: No, I only found out after I got out.
Interviewer: Are you aware that you're the only survivor of the entire building?
NOTE: *S1 looks visibly nauseous and takes several minutes to recover her composure. Her eyes are still periodically darting about the room, a few times her head tilts to the side and her eyes close.*
Interviewer: Miss ███████, do you need us to end the interview now?
S1: No, it's okay. There's only a little bit more to tell, right? I'll just power through it.
Interviewer: Very well.
NOTE: *the assistant holding the mic flinches suddenly and shakes his head, brings mic back to S1. He appears spooked. Interviewer looks to the side, shakes his head with a confused expression and returns his notice to S1*
S1: The whispers were getting pretty bad by this point. You could even understand them. Scary stuff.
Interviewer: Could you describe what was said?
S1: They can see you. Get out. Um... a few said things along the lines of we're trying to help you and please listen, please please please.
Interviewer: Just personalized warnings?
S1: No, the whispers would warn us about others too. I heard a few about Lieutenant ███████ before he disappeared. They kept saying that They're touching him. They could see him. That I needed to make him listen. And that they couldn't save him.
Interviewer: At what point did you make your escape?
S1: We had managed to get down the stairwell to about the third story when we reached a tangled barricade of office chairs. They were stuffed in there pretty badly so we went onto the third story floor. Some of the office personnel were hiding under desks and that's when the whispers got so loud that it was like things were screaming in our ears.
Interviewer: The spiders were more visible as well?
S1: We were seeing multiple ones every few seconds. Several of the armed people on the team began firing at them.
S1: People began disappearing right there. Like, getting dragged into the corner of our vision, even if you looked at them, they'd just pull to the side and then there was more bodies. Right there in front of you. All [REDACTED] like the others we found.
NOTE: *S1 is appearing more and more visibly distressed. Her heart rate meter is showing elevated pressure and heartbeat. Her speech is beginning to become rushed, as though she's attempting to finish the interview as quickly as possible. Her eyes are darting about the room in constant motion. The assistant is also beginning to look stressed and is looking around more often*
S1: And that's when I got knocked out of the window. A few stray rounds went past me and I jumped backwards. They must have damaged the glass enough for the force of my jump to carry me through it.
Interviewer: Where you landed in the open dumpster outside, sustaining heavy injuries but nothing life threatening.
S1: Yeah. I fell. Or maybe something pushed me. I don't know. It's all nuts. Every bit of it.
Interviewer: Please calm down. Your heart rate is very high.
S1: But honestly, I don't think it was the spiders. I think... I know this sounds crazy... but I think those creepy fuckers were trying to help us. I think they were the ones whispering.
Interviewer: Interesting.
NOTE: *S1's mouth drops open and her eyes widen in panic*
S1: Oh god no no no no no no nonono *S1 is rocking back and forth*
Interviewer: Miss, please calm down, nurse? *leans towards the door, shouting* Nurse, the patient needs a sedative.
NOTE: *S1 throws herself out of the bed, despite her multiple broken ribs and other severe injuries, pushes past the shocked interviewer, and smacks into the wall outside the door in the hallway, just outside of view*
S1: YOU HAVE TO RUN, THEY'RE HERE
Interviewer: *pulls a two way radio off belt* Yes, I need a containment team in the building now. The injured witness is having a breakdown. Nonlethal force only if necessary.
S1: THEY'RE TOUCHING YOU. I CAN HEAR THEM. THEY KNOW. YOU HAVE TO LISTEN.
Interviewer: ████, please go restrain her.
NOTE: *Assistant moves towards doorway. Door slams shut with S1 in hallway, screaming incoherently and Interviewer and Assistant in room. Assistant's eyes and head are moving rapidly.*
Assistant: Oh god I can see them oh god, oh god
Interviewer: ████, get a fucking hold of yourself and get this door open, we have to
NOTE: *Audio and video becomes distorted with static. Some screaming is detectable within white noise. This condition persists for 4.2 minutes. Picture clears up, revealing scattered spray of blood and unidentifiable matter, several bones identifiable as three intact femurs and numerous unidentifiable bone fragments are embedded in multiple walls in the room. The skin of both Interviewer and Assistant has been [REDACTED] into [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] to multiple points of the room. Nurse opens the door, revealing a catatonic S1 on the other side and screams after starring at the contents of the room for several seconds, slamming door.*
NOTE: END OF VIDEO FEED
FINAL NOTES: S1 is currently still in a catatonic state at in the mental health ward of ████████████████ Hospital and under guard. Investigation of hospital ███████ and office building ██████████████ is still ongoing. Command has advised that both sites be shut down permanently, using CDC authorization ████ and Infectious Agent Quarantine Cover Story 21B.
