Sometime back in the early 2010s, I was at an anime convention, standing in a hall, talking to a friend. All of a sudden, we heard a flourish of trumpets. We looked over to find a man flanked by an entire posse of trolls, walking towards us.
He started chatting with my friend. After a minute, she introduced me to him. His name was Andrew Hussie.
“Oh,” I said.
“He’s the creator of Homestuck!” The man smirked and failed to look humble.
“What’s Homestuck?”
He faltered. My friend glared daggers at me. “It’s a web comic. All the people dressed in grey skin and orange horns are from there.”
“Oh!” I cried, I had noticed several of them this year. I hadn’t known where they were from, but I liked the designs.
Hussie smiled. “Thanks, I—”
A loud shriek pierced the air, from somewhere down the hall. Hussie turned white as a sheet.
“We need to go now.” Before I knew it, the entire posse had made an impressive distance across the hall. I never saw them again, but I did get an ear-full from my friend
And that was the time I met the author of Homestuck 😂
