Hi! Could I perhaps request a HenryxF!MU prompt? Perhaps something fluffy where MU is afraid of the dark and Henry, despite loving the dark himself, ends up comforting her? I'm fluff trash, haha. Thank you. c:
sorry for the 2+ year wait aha, if you’re still kicking around anon I hope you enjoy!
“Good night, Robin! Don’t let the bed bugs bite, nya ha ha!” Henry exclaimed cheerfully, blowing out the last candle thatilluminated their tent.
Robin didn’t respond, which was typical for Henry. She was usually asleep right when her head hit the bedroll. Little did Henryknow, Robin was actually wide awake this time.
Usually Robin would work herself until exhaustion, becoming so tired that when it was time to sleep she would have no problems indoing so. Henry always teased her about being married to work rather than him,but she actually worked so hard so she wouldn’t have to endure the terrifyingfew minutes before she could succumb to sleep.
Robin hated to admit it, but she was terrified ofthe dark.
Being the famed tactician of the Shepherds wasn’t exactlyan easy job, and she had many congratulate her on her skills. She had solid strategiesthat led to many victories, inspiring some and terrifying others. Someone ofher caliber shouldn’t be scared of the something so silly, she would tellherself. But Robin couldn’t help but flee into her tent once sunset hits hereyes.
Robin clutched onto the fire tome under her pillowprotectively. She desperately wanted to pull it out and light a tiny candle, but she knew that Henry wasn’t asleep yet. She felt a little silly, hidingsomething like this from her husband. But that thought quickly escaped her headonce she heard harrowing gusts of wind dance around in their tent and theechoed howls of wolves invade her ears.
Millions of thoughts raced around in her mind, both terrifying her and jolting her awake at the same time. Robin couldn’t tellthe difference between her eyes being opened and closed, and she felt the dark pullingher in all directions while suffocating her at the same time. Before she couldregister what she was doing, Robin swiftly clung onto Henry, wrapping her armsand legs around him as tightly as she could.
“Whoa! Isn’t it a little late to be frisky? Nya haha!” Henry giggled.
When Robin didn’t respond, Henry felt a littleuneasy. She was usually loaded with a snarky retort, and the silence waspainful for him as it lingered.
“Hey, are you okay? I might be a little squishybut I can protect you all the same!” Henry quipped, hoping that he couldprovoke some response from Robin.
All Robin could manage was a meek laugh, shewanted to respond but she could feel tears rise from her throat and choke outher voice. She clamped her eyes shut and tried to prevent any tears fromescaping, but her efforts were meaningless as she could feel loose tears soakinto Henry’s shirt.
Immediately, Henry lit a candle and engulfed Robinin a bear hug.
“Did someone hurt you? I’ll make them regret that!I’ll have you know that I love nothing more than ripping thumbs off, nya ha!”Henry was no good at comforting, but he was determined to do anything for Robinto feel better.
“N-no, I’m okay. No one hurt me.” Robin muttered.Tears running down her face and a rather embarrassing shade of red resting onher cheeks, she couldn’t muster up the courage to tell Henry the truth.
“If no one hurt you then what’s wrong? Is Chromgiving you too much work? Oh boy I’ll curse him so-“
“No! No, Chrom is okay. No need to curse anyone.” Robinreassured him, she didn’t want Chrom to be cursed but she especially didn’t wantFrederick on their tails for anything happening to their commander. “I’m… I’m afraidof the dark”
“The dark?”
“Y-yeah. It’s silly I know.”
“Nya ha! That’s not silly, Robin.” Henry evenplanted a small kiss on Robin’s forehead to reassure her. Henry had to admit, her confession caught him a little off guard. He loved the dark himself, butthat meant nothing if Robin couldn’t enjoy it with him.
He felt Robin snuggle up closer to his chest, anda small breath escaped her lips and tickled his skin. He leaned back a littleto gently wipe some stray tears off her face, as he saw Robin’s eyes close andher body relax.
“Do you want to see something cool?” Henry said, breaking Robin out of her reverie.
Robin nodded, and Henry promptly blew out thecandle. Before she could have a chance to react, a small ball of light paintedtheir tent with a dim purple hue. Robin wanted to say something, but two moreballs appeared and started dancing around in her vision. She was too memorizedto say anything, as she just laid back and watched the three balls spin anddart around their tent.
This magic was fairly basic in Henry’s eyes, as itdidn’t take much for him to create some balls of light. Robin’s reactions however, were priceless. He saw how enamoured she was, and how her eyes dedicated tofollowing them around. He would move them up and down, and saw her eyes do thesame. A smile started creeping across Robin’s face, and Henry couldn’t help butsmile in return.
Any sign of unease melted away from Robin’s mind, and she found herself unable to tear her eyes away from the light show Henrywas putting on for her. They would occasionally get close to her face, practically kissing her cheeks before they scurried away again. Robin didn’t evennotice her eyelids becoming increasingly heavy, as she still saw the lightseven when her eyes were closed.
After a few more minutes, Henry shushed the lightsand rested his head beside Robin’s. She was fast asleep, and Henry watched herchest rise and fall as her faint breaths tickled his ears. Even if she wasasleep, Henry still had a large smile plastered onto his face. He couldn’t waitfor morning to come, so the sunlight could flush any fears his wife may have.
As Henry started to doze off, the only thing hecould think about was how lovely Robin would look underneath some blue light tomorrownight.
