“Can you stop that?“ Emily asked as Julien snickered again.
“It’s just dinner, cherié. I haven’t seen you so flustered and much less for Mr. Katsaros. I must admit, watching you walk way without shoes was quite the image, but this is totally different. There’s no need to worry.“
“No need to worry?“ The blonde said through clenched teeth. “Jay will be here in no time, I don’t know where we’re going, but it will be out first time going out as a couple. Excuse me if I’m a little on edge because instead of helping me pick an outfit, you’re just laughing.“
Charles, sweet Charles finally took pity on her. Or maybe realized that helping her would keep her from killing his husband. Either way, she pulled her into the room while he scanned her closet.
“You should wear this.“
The blue dress was perfect for whatever occasion and after what felt like a hundred years, Emily was able to breathe again.
“Thank you.“

Getting ready went smoothly. That didn’t mean her nerves were gone as she made her way downstairs. She knew it was stupid, she was with Orion just the day before and everything went surprisingly good. There was no need to be this anxious, but Emily never really liked to wait.
Still, it was almost time for Orion to show up.
If there was a slight flutter on Emily’s belly, she blamed the nerves.
