WHO: Quinn Fabray & Sam Evans ( @inkedsevans )
WHAT: Does it count as an interview if the person doing the hiring has no idea wtf is going on?
WHEN: Mid-December bc Julie’s late af.
WARNINGS: Mention of alcohol, probably? Probably allusion to family trouble?
It was harder than Quinn thought, getting herself to step through The Maggie’s doorway - for just a moment, she really did consider bolting and trashing the entire idea, and then she remembered that she couldn’t do that, that this was literally her last and only valid option, and so she squared her shoulders and marched on through.
She spotted Sam behind the counter immediately, and ignored the way people’s eyes landed on her, the way the talk either silenced or moved to curious whispers as she passed through. She was more or less used to it; people had talked about her all her life, and she was hardly a regular. She would probably talk too, if she was them.
Quinn stopped at the counter’s edge and cleared her throat to get Sam’s attention, then met his eye.
“I’m here about the bartending job.” It came out like a statement, and Quinn suddenly remembered that she was not only asking for a job, but for a favor - The Maggie was to Sam’s family what The Knight’s Gazette was to Quinn’s, and if just anybody walked in the doors like they owned the place, she’d throw them out before they could say ‘read all about it’.
But she wasn’t just anyone. She was Quinn Fabray, and she could do this.
So. She took the tiniest breath and tried again: “If you have the time to talk about it now, that is? I can come back, if there’s a better time.”
